The theory for criticality presented in Part 1 is extended to the unsteady problem, and a new formulation of the Benjamin–Feir instability for Stokes waves in finite depth coupled to a mean flow, which takes the criticality matrix as an organizing centre, is presented. The generation of unsteady dark solitary waves at points of stability changes and their connection with the steady dark solitar...

Let G be a finite p-group and let Aut_l(G) be the group of absolute central automorphisms of G. In this paper we give necessary and sufficient condition on G such that each absolute central automorphism of G fixes the centre element-wise. Also we classify all groups of orders p^3 and p^4 whose absolute central automorphisms fix the centre element-wise.

In this paper, we investigate the problem of the detection of a moving obstacle in a perfect fluid occupying a bounded domain in R from the measurement of the velocity of the fluid on one part of the boundary. We show that when the obstacle is a ball, we may identify the position and the velocity of its centre of mass from a single boundary measurement. Linear stability estimates are also estab...

The title compound, C(24)H(29)NO(7), is asymmetric with a chiral centre located in the pyran ring and crystallizes as a racemate. The coumarin ring system and the fused pyran ring make a dihedral angle of 10.46 (8)°. A short intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the amino group and the vicinal carbonyl group generates an S(6) ring. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the sta...

The complete mol-ecule of the title compound, C(16)H(12)N(2)O(4), is generated by the application of a centre of inversion. The (1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)methyl-idene fused-ring system is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.020 Å) and is essentially coplanar with the central hydrazine group [dihedral angle = 5.08 (9)°]. Weak π-π inter-molecular inter-actions are observed [centroid-centroid d...

In this article, we study the stability of the space of asymptotic fermion states in (2 + 1)D, when long range interparticle interactions are present. This is done in the framework of bosonization, where the fermion propagator can be represented in terms of a vortex correlator. In particular, we discuss possible instabilities in the large distance behavior of the induced action for the vortex w...

Postural control can be defined as the control of the body’s position in space for the purposes of balance and orientation [1]. A definition of balance is the ability to maintain or return the body's centre of gravity within the limits of stability that are determined by the base of support (i.e., the area of the feet) [2]; while spatial orientation defines our natural ability to maintain our b...

In smallholder agriculture, women farmers are largely responsible for the selection, improvement and adaptation of plant varieties. In many regions, women are also responsible for the management of small livestock, including their reproduction. Women often have a more highly specialized knowledge of wild plants used for food, fodder and medicine than men. Women – users, preservers and managers ...
