Most low noise amplifier designs focus on eliminating sources of noise that are intrinsic to the amplifier (thennal noise, Ilfnoise). As integrated drcuit design moves increasingly towards mixed signal implementations, the design of low-noise analog amplifiers must be re...evaluated to consider the switching noise generated by on-<:hip digital circuitry. We designed three fully differential ver...

Digital signal processing (DSP) techniques are being incorporated in the design of modern power amplifiers (PA) and as the speed of DSP advances it is envisioned that DSP will develop to a point where algorithms will provide signals at RF particularly for switching amplifiers. The digital transmitter has many potential benefits such as the absence of aging or tuning problems, reconfigurability,...
This paper presents a novel switch-mode power amplifier based on a multicell multilevel circuit topology. The total output voltage of the system is formed by series connection of several switching cells having a low dc-link voltage. Therefore, the cells can be realized using modern low-voltage high-current power MOSFET devices and the dc link can easily be buffered by rechargeable batteries or ...
In this paper, we have developed a high power solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) for Sband military radars. The SSPA consists of a high power amplifier (HPA) module combined GaN based power amplifier pallets, a drive amplifier (DA) module, a digital control module and a power supply unit. The SSPA shows the total output power of 62 dBm in S-band.
A novel amplifier configuration is described, in which a bandpass delta-sigma modulator is used to produce a two-level (digital) signal representing an analog radio frequency (RF) input. Subsequently, a switching-mode amplifier and bandpass filter are used to amplify the signal and remove unwanted spectral components. This configuration has the potential of achieving high efficiency (typical of...
a complete procedure for the design of w-band low noise amplifier in mmic technology is presented. the design is based on a simultaneously power and noise matched technique. for implementing the method, scalable bilateral transistor model parameters should be first extracted. the model is also used for transmission line utilized in the amplifier circuit. in the presented method, input/output ma...
Class D audio amplifiers have gained significant influence in sound reproduction due to their high efficiency. One of the most commonly used control methods in class D amplifiers is known as self-oscillation. An parameter of key interest in self-oscillating class D amplifiers is the switching frequency, which can be directly related to the performance of the amplifier. This paper will clearify ...
A simple dynamic model of the erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) that includes self-saturation by amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) is used to analyze the power and signalto-noise ratio (SNR) transients in wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical networks in which signals cross chains of EDFA’s from source to destination. The model, which consists of solving sequentially one ordinary d...
