Nanofibers, produced by electrospinning a solution containing titanium tetra(IV) isopropoxide, polyvinyl acetate and acetic acid in N,N-dimethyl acetamide, upon sintering at 500 °C produce rice grain-shaped TiO(2) mesostructures. Each rice grain-shaped TiO(2) has a mixed crystal structure and high porosity and the mesostructures are found to have applications in dye-sensitized solar cells.
Octahedral titanium(IV) oxide (TiO(2)) crystallites with exposed anatase [101] facets exhibited relatively high photocatalytic activity for oxidative decomposition of organic compounds and low activity for hydrogen evolution in the absence of molecular oxygen, probably due to the characteristics of the anatase [101] surface.
The title complex, dichlorido[N,N-di-methyl-2-(η(5)-tetra-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl)acetamidinido-κN']titanium(IV), [Ti(C(13)H(20)N(2))Cl(2)], exhibits an unusual ansa-bridged conformation. The cyclo-penta-dienyl ring and the mean plane of the Ti-N=C-C-C fragment form a dihedral angle of 88.08 (11)°.
Large chiral triangular macrocycles having three salen ligand sites were obtained by cyclocondensation of trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane with linearly connected bis-salicylaldehydes. Structures of the ligands and their titanium(IV) or zinc(II) complexes have been characterized by means of spectroscopic (CD) and computational (DFT) methods.
Chelate stabilization of a titanium(IV)-salan alkoxide by ligand exchange with 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (dipic) resulted in heptacoordinate complex 3 which is not redox-active, stable on silica gel and has increased aqueous stability. 3 is highly toxic in HeLa S3 and Hep G2 and has enhanced antitumor efficacy in a mouse cervical-cancer model.
Au nanoparticle surface plasmon resonance-induced photocatalytic chemoselective oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds has been investigated. The heterosupramolecular system consisting of Au nanoparticle-loaded titanium(IV) dioxide and surfactant molecular assembly dramatically enhances the reaction. This system should evolve the photocatalyst to intelligent nanodevices.
The external surfaces of the surfactant-directed, 2.5 nm MFI zeolite nanosheets were grafted with Ti using titanium(IV) butoxide. The Ti/MFI nanosheets exhibited a remarkable catalytic performance for epoxidation of bulky olefins using H2O2 as an oxidant, in comparison to the mesoporous silicas with amorphous frameworks.
Titanium oxyfluoride (TiOF2) is a metastable product that can be obtained in fluorine-rich environment. This material also valuable precursor the synthesis of titanium(IV) oxide (TiO2). However, effect TiOF2 morphology on physicochemical properties TiO2 has not been studied so far. In this work, single-phase was prepared by solvothermal method. The as-synthesized samples exhibited variety morph...
We introduce the first example of isoreticular titanium–organic frameworks, MUV-10 and MUV-12, to show how different affinity hard Ti(IV) soft Ca(II) metal sites can be used direct selective grafting amines. This enables combination Lewis acid titanium centers available -NH2 in two sizeable pores for cooperative cycloaddition CO2 epoxides at room temperature atmospheric pressure. The molecules ...
