Skeletons are powerful shape descriptors with many applications in shape processing, reconstruction and matching. In this paper we show that in 3D, curve skeletons can be extracted from surface skeletons in the same manner as surface skeletons can be computed from 3D object representations. Thus, the curve skeleton is conceptually the result of a recursion applied twice to a given 3D shape. To ...
this article examines the number of arabic dialects, reminding their majority in a comparative and a practical way. then comes the words of ibn jinni in unusualness and usualness in the language and its four types and represents them as stated in ibn jinni’s books and specially their characteristics. also shows that the purpose of reading the unusualness does not mean they are in unusual dialec...
Skeletons simplify parallel programming by providing general patterns of parallel computations. When several skeletons are used inside the same program, skeleton composition usually leads to aggregation and redistribution of the intermediate data on a single process. Though the programmer can overcome the performance loss at a lower level of abstraction by altering the existing skeletons or not...
Trees are important datatypes that are often used in representing structured data such as XML. Though trees are widely used in sequential programming, it is hard to write efficient parallel programs manipulating trees, because of their irregular and ill-balanced structures. In this paper, we propose a solution based on the skeletal approach. We formalize a set of skeletons (abstracted computati...
Algorithmic skeletons are polymorphic higher-order functions representing common parallelization patterns. A special category are data-parallel skeletons, which perform operations on a distributed data structure. In this paper, we consider the case of distributed data structures with dynamic elements. We present the enhancements necessary in order to cope with these data structures, both on the...
RGB-D skeletons are nowadays commonly used e.g. for gesture recognition, and so their accuracy and stability have significant influence on further processing. Skeletons obtained with motion capture are considerably more accurate and can be used to assess the quality of RGB-D skeleton extraction algorithms. In this paper, we record motion sequences with both a Kinect RGB-D sensor and a full moti...
OBJECTIVES To compare the prevalence of osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip, tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints in a skeletal population. METHODS A total of 785 adult English skeletons (695 Saxon or Mediaeval origin) were examined for OA using established criteria. RESULTS Twenty nine skeletons had hip OA, compared with 14 with patellofemoral joint OA, and only four tibiofemoral joint OA. ...
