The Types Meeting is a forum to present new and ongoing work in all aspects of type theory and its applications, especially in formalized and computer assisted reasoning and computer programming. Since 1992, Types Meetings have been annual workshops of several multilateral scientific EU-financed projects, of which the Types Project was the most recent. Although organized in Europe, the meetings...

The application of resonant magnetic perturbations (RMP) to DIII-D plasmas at low collisionality has achieved ELM suppression, primarily due to a pedestal density reduction. The mechanism of the enhanced particle transport is investigated in 3D MHD simulations with the NIMROD code. The simulations apply realistic vacuum fields from the DIII-D I-coils, C-coils and measure intrinsic error fields ...

An example of such practices is the code of rules containing in the thirteenth and fourteenth chapters of Leviticus. These rules define the degree of isolation and other measures to be applied in the case of "lepers." In the early ages, countries remained isolated, and there was little trade between them so no marked spread of infection in an epidemic manner occurred. Measures of self protectio...

This paper deals with the problem of maintaining a distributed directory server, that enables us to keep track of mobile users in a distributed network in the presence of concurrent requests. The paper uses the graph-theoretic concept of regional matching for implementing efficient tracking mechanisms. The tracking mechanism has to support two operations: a move operation, causing a user to mov...

The research presented here considered the well-documented phenomenon of immigrant clustering in niche trades or occupations and compares immigrant and non-immigrant groups within the same poverty ‘ghetto’ – the Red Bank area of Manchester. The research used primary census data and contemporary maps to analyse the socio-economic and spatial structure of the ‘ghetto’. The findings suggest that t...

We propose a new type-theoretic foundation of Scala and languages like it: the Dependent Object Types (DOT) calculus. DOT models Scala’s path-dependent types, abstract type members and its mixture of nominal and structural typing through the use of refinement types. The core formalism makes no attempt to model inheritance and mixin composition. DOT normalizes Scala’s type system by unifying the...

We find new solutions to 11-dimensional supergravity describing M5-branes wrapped on holomorphic 2-cycles embedded in C. These solutions preserve N = 1 supersymmetry in four dimensions. They are dual to N = 1 gauge theories in four dimensions by Maldacena’s duality. We compute the hyperfine splitting in a heavy quarkonium composed of different flavors in next-to-leading logarithmic approximation using the nonrelativistic renormalization group. We predict the mass difference of the vector and pseudoscalar charmbottom mesons to be M(B c )−M(Bc) = 65± 24 (th) +19 −16 (δαs) MeV. PACS numbers: 12.38.Bx, 14.65.Fy, 14.65.Ha
