The chemical potential of oxygen ions at the novel oxygen pumping anode for electrowinning aluminum was manipulated by the electromotive forces to create thermodynamic stability. It is our anticipation that this newly designed anode can be applied to electrochemical metallurgy of other metals, such as the direct electrochemical reduction of TiO2 in the FFC process.
This study evaluated different dosage forms of aluminum adjuvant in generating allergic rhinitis animal models. Forty female BALB/c mice were assigned to four groups, including three dosage forms of aluminum adjuvant [powder, gel, and hydrosolvent of aluminum hydroxide, Al(OH)3] mixed with ovalbumin to simulate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and one control group. Although the aluminum adjuv...
Aluminium (Al)/Aluminium alloy composites are emerging as very promising materials, especially in the fields of aerospace and automotive for their various attractive and technically demanding properties. Discontinuously reinforced aluminium metal matrix composites with reinforcements as nanoparticles of ceramics in general and carbon nanotubes in particular have emerged as the forerunner for a ...
Powder Injection Molding (PIM) is a precision manufacturing process used for production of advanced composites. Mixing of polymeric binder with metal powders, molding of feedstock, de-binding of brown parts and sintering of green samples are four main steps of this process. In the present study, the compounds containing multi-component binder system and aluminum/ nano-alumina (0-9 wt.%) powders...
Iron-chromium-aluminum (FeCrAl) alloys such as APMT (advanced powder metallurgy tubing) are candidate materials to replace zirconium for the light water reactor fuel cladding. This alloy meets requirements be a material more tolerant of high-temperature accidents than current alloys. One concern is that use FeCrAl may result in an increase tritium presence coolant compared design. The aim resea...
An aluminum matrix composite with dispersed carbon nanotubes (CNTs) was produced via flake powder metallurgy using a micro-rolling process and vacuum hot pressing (VHP), followed by conventional rolling macro-rolling process. The microstructure mechanical properties of the composites were studied. In addition, new quantitative model introduced to study dislocation density based on microstructur...
