BACKGROUND Highly reactive carbonyl compounds formed during glycolysis, such as methylglyoxal (MG), can lead to the formation of 'advanced glycation end products' (AGE) and carbonyl stress. Toxic AGEs are suspected to accumulate and play a role in reducing quality and developmental potential of mammalian oocytes of aged females and in PCOS and diabetic patients. Whether and how MG and AGE affec...

Carbonyl stress and accumulation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) in human tissues are involved in diabetic complications, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease and aging. The objective of this study was to evaluate the in vitro protective effect of aqueous extracts of coffee silverskin (CS) in the formation of AGEs and trapping of carbonyl reactive species such as methylglyoxal (MGO). ...

Abstract In recent years, as electronic devices such smartphones become more functional, compact, and lower cost, many semiconductor makers are studying the packages WLP (Wafer Level Package) having re-distribution layer (RDL).With miniaturization increase in number of pins a package, method conduction between chip an external electrode has been changed from wire connection to bump RDL. And app...

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) implemented a program to identify tailpipe emissions of criteria and air-toxic contaminants from in-use, light-duty low-emission vehicles (LEVs). EPA recruited 25 LEVs in 2002 and measured emissions on a chassis dynamometer using the cold-start urban dynamometer driving schedule of the Federal Test Procedure. The emissions measured included regulat...

nano silica-h2so4 is an efficient and mild catalysis system for the regeneration of aldehyde from aldoximes. ketoximes are converted to amides by beckmann rearrangement in the presence of nano silica-h2so4. the reactions are carried out in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation (600 w) within 50-120 sec in good yields.

The photosensitivity of metal carbonyls has been known almost as long as the class of coordination compounds itself. Among no other group of inorganic compounds may one find so many light-sensitive materials. Hence photochemical reactions of metal carbonyls have found wide applications for synthetic purposes. However, whereas much research has been done to understand the thermal reactions," the...

A series of diazo carbonyl compounds bearing different substituents have been prepared in order to investigate the steric effect in 1,2-migration reaction of rhodium(II) carbene. Through the investigation on the diazo decomposition of these compounds with Rh2(OAc)4, it was found that the steric effect could dramatically influence the migratory aptitude. In many cases, the steric effect could ov...

The 5-endo-trig-type cyclization has been performed using a Pd-bis(isoxazoline) catalyst. The present cyclization of β,γ-unsaturated carbonyl compounds gave γ-butenolides and 3-pyrrolin-2-ones in good to excellent yields.

A mild and general α-arylation of α-amino carbonyls with indoles catalyzed by Fe(ClO4)3 has been developed. C-H activation is smoothly fulfilled by using TBHP as the oxidant with good yields. Two hydrogen dissociations make this transformation more environmentally benign because of high atom efficiency.
