This paper investigates the functional projective synchronization problem for chaotic systems. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a nonlinear control scheme for the synchronization is proposed. Numerical simulations on Chen chaotic system are presented to verify the usefulness of the proposed control scheme.

In this report we discuss the problem of separating the sum of chaotic signals into the individual components with a procedure of backward iteration of the mapping equations describing the chaotic sources. We show that the proposed approach has good stability in respect to additive external noise.

The role of nonlinear diiusion terms in the stability of periodic solutions in the regime of spatio temporal chaos is studied. The stabilization of unstable plane waves in the Complex Ginzburg Landau equation in weakly chaotic regimes such as phase turbulence and spatiotemporal intermittency or in strong chaotic ones like defect turbulence is demonstrated.

In the present paper we study a tri-trophic Lotka-Volterra food web model with omnivory and predator switching. We observe that if the intensity of predator switching increases the chaotic behavior of the omnivory model will be reduced. We conclude that the predator switching mechanism enhances the stability of an otherwise chaotic system.
