A survey of the experimental data on the charge and strong hadronic radii is given. A new, however preliminary value of the Σ − charge radius allows to include also hyperons in the systematics. The presented data on the hadronic radii give the first hint of their dependence on the strangeness content. An estimate of the constituent quark size is given.

We analyze the electromagnetic form factors of the ground state baryon octet to fourth order in relativistic baryon chiral perturbation theory. Predictions for the Σ charge radius and the Λ–Σ0 transition moment are found to be in excellent agreement with the available experimental information. Furthermore, the convergence behavior of the hyperon charge radii is shown to be more than satisfactory.

We analyze the salient features of vortex-ring solitons supported by cylindrically symmetric media with nonlocal thermal nonlinearity.
