Continuous cellular incorporation of choline molecules is essential for DNA binding to competent pneumococci. The choline molecules are incorporated into the cell surface at the equatorial region of the cocci. As a working hypothesis, it is proposed that DNA molecules enter these bacteria at the growing zone(s) of the cell envelope.

fl-Amyloido 42) peptide ( flAP 0 _42)) was injected into the medial septum of rats. After a 14-day survival time, neuronal alterations in the septal cholinergic and GABAergic systems were visualized by means of histoand immunocytochemical methods. Neurons insulted by the peptide were primarily choline acetyltransferase-immunoreactive (ir), while only minor effects of flAP~v4: ) were observed on...

Nutritional deprivation of proteins decreases the protein kinase C (PKC) activity in rat lung. The activity of (PKC) is influenced by lipid metabolism. Changes in PKC activity may influence phosphorylation of its substrate proteins in the tissues. Therefore, alterations in phospholipid metabolism and PKC mediated protein phosphorylation in dietary protein deficiency in rat lung were envisaged. ...

Cirrhosis and fibrosis are mainly characterized by the frequent repeated inflammation of renal cells. These disorders may also lead to hepatocarcinoma even death, so we in need complementary alternative medicine treat diseases. The Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Streptococcus pneumoniae (the pneumococcus) colonizes the human nasopharynx and is a significant pathogen worldwide. Pneumolysin (Ply) is a multi-functional, extracellular virulence factor produced by this organism that is critical for pathogenesis. Despite the absence of any apparent secretion or cell surface attachment motifs, Ply localizes to the cell envelope of actively growing cells. We s...

Continuous labelling of callus with H-thymidine results in intermittent peaks of H-DNA per chloroplast, showing synchrony of division. The increase in H-DNA could be due to several replication rounds, and the drop to successive plastid divisions without intervening DNA synthesis. The level of DNA-binding proteins in the chloroplast parallels the peaks of plastidal DNA synthesis; such pro...

in the near future, design of a new generation of drugs targeting proteins will be required. considering the complex bond between the drug and protein, the structure and stability of the target protein should be considered. so far, a series of in vitro investigations have been conducted with the aim of predicting drug-biological medium interactions. in these studies, use of spectroscopic method...

s | 59 Results showed no significant main effect of drug condition on empathic responses. However, a significant interaction effect between drug condition and primary psychopathy was found for personal distress and a marginally significant interaction effect was found for empathic concern. Simple effects analyses showed significant negative correlations between primary psychopathy and personal ...
