Radiation-induced gliomas are uncommon and therapeutic options are limited due to prior exposure to radiotherapy. Meanwhile, the chemotherapeutic response of anaplastic ependymoma, another rare entity in adults, is often disappointing. We report on the first recorded case of radiation-induced anaplastic ependymoma, in which an excellent clinical response to temozolomide was demonstrated.

We report an unusual case of an extraaxial ependymoma of the posterior fossa in an adult. MR imaging showed a heterogeneously enhancing extraaxial mass with a cystic component. Ependymoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of uncommon extraaxial masses of the posterior fossa.

A case is reported with clear cell sarcoma (CCS) of the hand. Early diagnosis of clear cell sarcoma is always difficult due to its slow growing nature, benign clinical appearance, lack of pigmentation in most cases, and relatively young age of patients which make it to clinically appear as a benign soft tissue tumor. We report a case of clear cell sarcoma of hand in a 56 year old male with a no...

Primary clear cell adenocarcinomas most commonly involve the genitourinary system, including the vagina. Previously, primary clear cell adenocarcinomas of the vagina have been discussed within the context of prenatal exposure to diethylstilbestrol. Due to its widely proven role in the development of this carcinoma, administration of diethylstilbestrol is prohibited. We present two cases of non-...

The objective of this study was to identify differentially expressed and prognostically important genes in pediatric medulloblastoma and pediatric ependymoma by Affymetrix microarray analysis. Among the most discriminative genes, three members of the SOX transcription factor family were differentially expressed. Both SOX4 and SOX11 were significantly overexpressed in medulloblastoma (median, 11...

Renal cell carcinoma accounts for nearly 3% of all adult malignancies. It usually metastasizes to the lungs,...

BACKGROUND Myxopapillary ependymomas are well differentiated low-grade tumors which have been documented to local or distant metastasis. In the literature, this is a unique case of myxopapillary ependymoma with metastasis to the uterine cervix. Here, we present a rare case of extra neural metastasis of spinal ependymoma that developed over a long period. CASE REPORT A 34-year-old woman was re...
