We investigate the role of Bloch functions and superconducting gap symmetries on formation properties impurity-induced resonances in a two-dimensional superconductor, elucidate their manifestation scanning tunneling spectra. use extend recently developed scattering approach, conveniently formulating results terms phase shifts electron off impurity. find that discrete subgap states nodeless-gap ...

We study the thermodynamic liquid-gas transition and coexistence (LGTC) for ground-state bosons under contact interactions. find that LGTC can be facilitated by mismatch of spin polarization, dubbed "spin twist," between single-particle interaction channels with degrees freedom. Such a twist uniquely stabilizes gas phase creating an effective repulsion low-density bosons, thereby enabling in pr...

In this paper, a system with spin S=3/2 with general isotropic nearest neighbor exchange within a mean field approximation possess is discnssed. We derive equations describing non-Heisenberg isotropic model using coherent states of SU(4) group in real parameters and then obtain dispersion equations of spin wave of dipole and quadrupole branches for a small linear excitation from the ground state.

The transmission of an excitation along a spin chain can be hindered by the presence of small fixed imperfections that create trapping regions where the excitation may get caught (Anderson localization). A certain degree of noise, ensuing from the interaction with a thermal bath, allows to overcome localization (noise-assisted transport). In this paper we investigate the relation between noise-...

stability of the ;-; stacking interactions in the substituted-coronene||cyclooctatetraene complexes wasstudied using the computational quantum chemistry methods (where || denotes ;–; stackinginteraction, and substituted-coronene is coronene which substituted with four similar x groups; x =oh, sh, h, f, cn, and no). there are meaningful correlations between changes of geometricalparameters and t...

Magneto-electric coupling is a desirable property for material used in modern electronic devices to possess due the favorable possibilities of tuning properties using magnetic field and vice versa. However, such materials are rare nature. That why so-called superlattice approach creating receiving so much attention. In approach, functionality combined heterostructure depends on interacting comp...

A fraction of neutrino emission from GRB accretion disks annihilates above the disk, creating e+plasma that can drive GRB explosions. We calculate the efficiency of this annihilation using the recent detailed model of hyper-accretion disks around Kerr black holes. Our calculation is fully relativistic and based on a geodesic-tracing method. We find that the efficiency is a well-defined function...

Recent technical advances in the atomic-scale synthesis of oxide heterostructures have provided a fertile new ground for creating novel states at their interfaces. Different symmetry constraints can be used to design structures exhibiting phenomena not found in the bulk constituents. A characteristic feature is the reconstruction of the charge, spin and orbital states at interfaces on the nanom...

Quantum computing using two-dimensional NMR has recently been described using scalar coupling evolution technique [J. Chem. Phys., 109, 10603 (1998)]. In the present paper, we describe two-dimensional NMR quantum computing with the help of selective pulses. A number of logic gates are implemented using two and three qubits with one extra observer spin. Some many-in-one gates (or Portmanteau gat...
