This review describes progress in the development of electrochemiluminescent (ECL) arrays aimed at sensing DNA damage to identify genotoxic chemistry related to reactive metabolites. Genotoxicity refers to chemical or photochemical processes that damage DNA with toxic consequences. Our arrays feature DNA/enzyme films that form reactive metabolites of test chemicals that can subsequently react w...

This paper investigates the use of Multivariate State Estimation Techniques as input in predicting the remaining useful life prediction of electronic products. A prognostics approach combining the Multivariate State Estimation Technique with life cycle damage prediction is then presented, along with a case study. The challenges of the approach are also discussed.

This paper developed a fatigue-driven residual strength model considering the effects of low-velocity impact (LVI) damage and stress ratio. New fatigue failure criteria based on concept progressive were to simulate growth predict life for plain-weave composite laminates with LVI damage. To validate proposed model, tests glass fibre reinforced polymer 3238A/EW250F conducted, followed by post-imp...

Original scientific paper Characteristics of factors influencing mining-induced building damage are diverse, nonlinear, and multi-linear. For a better description of these factors, an intelligent prediction model for building damage induced by underground mining is developed based on the support vector machine (SVM). Based on a comprehensive consideration of geological, mining, and building fac...

The time series analysis approach for damage detection employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is modified and applied to the benchmark building designed by ASCE task group for damage detection and localization. A two-tier prediction model, using the auto-regressive (AR) and the autoregressive model with exogenous inputs (ARX) is used for obtaining the damage sensitive feature. The da...
