On geometrically finite negatively curved surfaces, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for a one-sided horocycle (hu)s≥0 to be dense in the nonwandering set of the horocyclic flow. We prove that all dense one-sided orbits (hu)s≥0 are equidistributed, extending results of [Bu] and [Scha2] where symmetric horocycles (hu)−R≤s≤R were considered.

Realistic 3D face model is desired in various applications such as face recognition, games, avatars, animations, and etc. Construction of 3D face model is composed of 1) building a face shape model and 2) rendering the face shape model. Thus, building a realistic 3D face shape model is an essential step for realistic 3D face model. Recently, 3D morphable model is successfully introduced to deal...

the submodules with the property of the title ( a submodule $n$ of an $r$-module $m$ is called strongly dense in $m$, denoted by $nleq_{sd}m$, if for any index set $i$, $prod _{i}nleq_{d}prod _{i}m$) are introduced and fully investigated. it is shown that for each submodule $n$ of $m$ there exists the smallest subset $d'subseteq m$ such that $n+d'$ is a strongly dense submodule of $m$...

Dense optical flow fields are required for many applications. They can be obtained by means of various global methods which employ regularization techniques for propagating estimates to regions with insufficient information. However, incorrect flow estimates are propagated as well. We, therefore, propose surface measures for the detection of locations where the full flow can be estimated reliab...

Variational methods for optic flow computation have the reputation of producing good results at the expense of being too slow for real-time applications. We show that real-time variational computation of optic flow fields is possible when appropriate methods are combined with modern numerical techniques. We consider the CLG method, a recent variational technique that combines the quality of the...

Flow visualization has been a very attractive component of scientific visualization research for a long time. Usually very large multivariate datasets require processing. These datasets often consist of a large number of sample locations and several time steps. The steadily increasing performance of computers has recently become a driving factor for a reemergence in flow visualization research,...

In this paper, we propose a new technique to visualize dense representations of time-dependent vector fields based on a Lagrangian-Eulerian Advection (LEA) scheme. The algorithm produces animations with high spatio-temporal correlation at interactive rates. With this technique, every still frame depicts the instantaneous structure of the flow, whereas an anima...

We show how pixel-based methods can be applied to a sparse image representation resulting from a superpixel segmentation. On this sparse image representation we only estimate a single motion vector per superpixel, without working on the full-resolution image. This allows the accelerated processing of high-resolution content with existing methods. The use of superpixels in optical flow estimatio...

Differential methods are frequently used techniques for optic flow computations. They can be classified into local methods such as the Lucas–Kanade technique or Bigün’s structure tensor method, and into global methods such as the Horn–Schunck approach and its modifications. Local methods are known to be more robust under noise, while global techniques yield 100% dense flow fields. No clear atte...
