In this paper, we present new upper bounds for the global domination and Roman domination numbers and also prove that these results are asymptotically best possible. Moreover, we give upper bounds for the restrained domination and total restrained domination numbers for large classes of graphs, and show that, for almost all graphs, the restrained domination number is equal to the domination num...
This paper examines the problematization of cultural issues related tothe dual spacization of life. The emergence of the second space of lifeover the first place of life combining local and translocal, national andtransnational capacities and challenges. We discuss the capacities andopportunities occurring through the instant communication industrywhich made the spontaneous connection between a...
In this paper, we introduce the closed domination in graphs. Some interesting relationships are known between domination and closed domination and between closed domination and the independent domination. It is also shown that any triple m, k and n of positive integers with 3 ≤ m ≤ k ≤ n are realizable as the domination number, closed domination number and independent domination number, respect...
Let G be a connected finite graph. The average distance μ(G) of G is the average of the distances between all pairs of vertices of G. For a positive integer k a k-packing of G is a subset S of the vertex set of G such that the distance between any two vertices in S is greater than k. The k-packing number βk(G) of G is the maximum cardinality of a k-packing of G. We prove upper bounds on the ave...
Two new domination parameters for a connected graph G: the weakly convex domination number of G and the convex domination number of G are introduced. Relations between these parameters and the other domination parameters are derived. In particular, we study for which cubic graphs the convex domination number equals the connected domination number.
We define a notion of stochastic domination between trees, where one tree dominates another if when the vertices of each are labeled with independent, identically distributed random variables, one tree is always more likely to contain a path with a specified property. Sufficient conditions for this kind of domination are (1) more symmetry and (2) earlier branching. We apply these conditions to ...
In this paper, we continue the study of the domination game in graphs introduced by Brešar, Klavžar, and Rall [SIAM J. Discrete Math. 24 (2010) 979–991]. We study the total version of the domination game and show that these two versions differ significantly. We present a key lemma, known as the Total Continuation Principle, to compare the Dominator-start total domination game and the Staller-st...
Let γ(G) be the domination number of a graph G, and let αk(G) be the maximum number of vertices in G, no two of which are at distance ≤ k in G. It is easy to see that γ(G) ≥ α2(G). In this note it is proved that γ(G) is bounded from above by a linear function in α2(G) if G has no large complete bipartite graph minors. Extensions to other parameters αk(G) are also derived.
