Routing is one of the important steps in very/ultra large-scale integration (VLSI/ULSI) physical design. Rectilinear Steiner minimal tree (RSMT) construction is an essential part of routing. Macro cells, IP blocks, and pre-routed nets are often regarded as obstacles in the routing phase. Obstacle-avoiding RSMT (OARSMT) algorithms are useful for practical routing applications. However, OARSMT al...
a function $f:v(g)rightarrow {-1,0,1}$ is a {em minusdominating function} if for every vertex $vin v(g)$, $sum_{uinn[v]}f(u)ge 1$. a minus dominating function $f$ of $g$ is calleda {em global minus dominating function} if $f$ is also a minusdominating function of the complement $overline{g}$ of $g$. the{em global minus domination number} $gamma_{g}^-(g)$ of $g$ isdefined as $gamma_{g}^-(g)=min{...
Texas contains a rich but still poorly known cavernicole fauna. Approximately 1,040 terrestrial and 150 aquatic species have been recorded from the state. This number will doubtless greatly increase when large collections, especially of mites, centipedes, and miscellaneous insects, are identified and described. An estimated 81 aquatic and 161 terrestrial species are believed to be sufficiently ...
Understanding the spatio-temporal subversion of host cell signaling by bacterial virulence factors is key to combating infectious diseases. Following a recent study by Buntru and co-workers published in BMC Biology, we review how fluorescence (Forster) resonance energy transfer (FRET) has been applied to studying host-pathogen interactions and consider the prospects for its future application.
Mangatangi parvum gen. n. and sp. and Forsteropsalis pureroa sp. n. are described from the North Island of New Zealand. Pantopsalis listeri (White 1849) and Pantopsalis cheliferoides (Colenso 1882) are redescribed and no longer regarded as nomina dubia; Pantopsalis luna (Forster 1944) is identified as a junior synonym of Pantopsalis listeri. A key to Pantopsalis species is provided.
PULMONARY CAPILLARY BLOOD VOLUME and alveolar-membrane diffusing capacity are components to overall pulmonary diffusing capacity. The equation deriving pulmonary diffusing capacity into these components was first published in 1957 by Francis Roughton and Robert Forster (19) in which the total resistance to pulmonary diffusion is the addition of alveolarmembrane resistance and red blood cell res...
