We show that the generalized Cesàro sequence spaces possess the locally uniform nonsquare and have the fixed point property, but they are not uniformly nonsquare. This result is related to the result of the paper by J. Falset et al. 2006 by giving the examples and the motivation to find the geometric properties that are weaker than uniformly nonsquare but still possess the fixed point property ...
We introduce the classes of nearly contraction mappings and nearly asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. The class of nearly contraction mappings includes the class of contraction mappings, but the class of nearly asymptotically nonexpansive mappings contains the class of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings and is contained in the class of mappings of asymptotically nonexpansive type. We study...
The object of this paper is to utilize the notion of β-admissible in the sense of Mohammadi et al. (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2013:24, 2013) to prove a fuzzy fixed point theorem and present some corollaries. We also give illustrative examples which demonstrate the validity of hypotheses of our results and applications to fuzzy fixed points for fuzzy mappings in partially ordered metric spaces ar...
Very recently, Agarwal et al. (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012:40, 2012) initiated the study of fixed point theorems for mappings satisfying cyclical generalized contractive conditions in complete partial metric spaces. In the present paper, we study some fixed point theorems for a mapping satisfying a cyclical generalized contractive condition based on a pair of altering distance functions in co...
Existence of Positive Solutions to a Nonlocal Boundary Value Problem with p-Laplacian on Time Scales
The nonlocal boundary value problem, with p-Laplacian of the form Φp u t h t f t, u t 0, t ∈ t1, tm T, u t1 − ∑n j 1 θju ηj − ∑m−2 i 1 iu ξi 0, u tm 0, has been considered. Two existence criteria of at least one and three positive solutions are presented. The first one is based on the Four functionals fixed point theorem in the work of R. Avery et al. 2008 , and the second one is based on the F...
Many functional versions of the Caristi-Kirk fixed point theorem are nothing but logical equivalents of the result in question.
We define the multivalued Reich (G, ρ)-contraction mappings on a modular function space. Then we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of fixed points for such mappings. As an application, we introduce a ρ-valued Bernstein operator on the set of functions f : [0, 1] → Lρ and then give the modular analogue to Kelisky-Rivlin theorem. c ©2016 All rights reserved.
In this paper a general fixed point theorem for converse commuting multivalued mappings, which generalize Theorems 2.1 and 2.2 from [3], is proved.
Some results on the existence of solution for certain fuzzy equations are revised and extended. In this paper, we establish the existence of a solution for the fuzzy equation Ex2 +Fx+G= x, where E, F, G, and x are positive fuzzy numbers satisfying certain conditions. To this purpose, we use fixed point theory, applying results such as the wellknown fixed point theorem of Tarski, presenting some...
We prove that for an action of a finite group G on a systolic complex X there exists a G–invariant subcomplex of X of diameter 5. For 7–systolic locally finite complexes we prove there is a fixed point for the action of any finite G. This implies that free products with amalgamation (and HNN extensions) of 7–systolic groups over finite subgroups are also 7–systolic.
