OBJECTIVE To define the performance characteristics of the LOCI® method for cardiac troponin I on the Dimension EXL system. DESIGNS AND METHODS Three different levels of commercial control (mean concentrations 0.426, 1.42, and 18.64 µg/L) were used for the imprecision study, quantifying separately within-run and between-run over 20 days. The limit of blank (LoB) and limit of detection (LoD) w...
The errors inherent in the fitting and integration of the pseudo-Gaussian ion peaks in Aerodyne high-resolution aerosol mass spectrometers (HR-AMSs) have not been previously addressed as a source of imprecision for these or similar instruments. This manuscript evaluates the significance of this imprecision and proposes a method for their estimation in routine data analysis. In the first part of...
Imprecision is commonly encountered with respect to powers and predictive in clinical trials. In this article, we investigate the imprecision issues of four (Classical Power, Classical Conditional Bayesian Power) eight powers. To begin with, derive probabilities Control Superior (CS), Treatment (TS), Equivocal (E) powers, evaluate limits at point 0. Moreover, conduct extensive numerical experim...
in applications there occur different forms of uncertainty. the twomost important types are randomness (stochastic variability) and imprecision(fuzziness). in modelling, the dominating concept to describe uncertainty isusing stochastic models which are based on probability. however, fuzzinessis not stochastic in nature and therefore it is not considered in probabilisticmodels.since many years t...
Video-based devices for measuring gaze direction are widespread. However, there is a built-in imprecision in such devices in the event that pupil diameter changes during the experiments. Data are presented to demonstrate this effect. The possibility of correcting eye-position records for the imprecision is discussed and preliminary examples of such correction are presented.
Imprecision in treatment response has been defined as inconsistent unpredictable results from the same treatment. Bias has been defined as systematic failure to achieve defined treatment goals. Concepts of imprecision and bias are applied to the results of a study of soft-tissue response to Class II treatment with edgewise and Herbst appliances.
Data imprecision constitutes an important gap between theory and practice in computational geometry. A lot of research about imprecision in computational geometry is directed at computing the convex hull of imprecise points rather than imprecise line segment intersection. In this paper we introduce an algorithm to construct the convex hull for a set of imprecise line segment intersection in time.
