Flexible, uniform and surface smooth iron-based metallic glassy fibers (MGFs) were fabricated by a melt-extraction method. There was large magnetic anisotropy in the MGF. We performed a spectroscopic study of the SB2 Mercury-Manganese star α And. Our measurements of the secondary’s radial velocities result in improved orbital elements.
