木造建築における木材需要の経済波及効果の推計において，合板と集成材は用途が異なるため個別に分析されることが望ましいが，既存の産業連関表では合板・集成材部門として集計されている．そこで，合板・集成材部門を合板部門と集成材部門に分割し，産業連関表を拡張した．これによって，合板部門の金額ベースの自給率が集成材部門のそれよりも小さいことから，既存の産業連関表に基づき算出した経済波及効果が合板の需要に対する分析では過大評価となり，集成材の需要に対する分析では過小評価となることが示された．今後，非住宅建築を中心に拡大が期待される木材需要の経済影響評価においては，詳細な部門分類に基づく分析が重要となる．
