This article explores the figure of bestselling author in two short stories by contemporary Argentinian writer Claudia Piñeiro. Using masculine concept ‘escritor de envergadura’ as a starting point, it analyses protagonists ‘La muerte y la canoa’ and ‘Bendito aire Buenos Aires’— both published Quién no— to draw conclusions about Piñeiro’s critique gendered world publishing industry.
