We prove that if the universalminimal flow of a Polish groupG ismetrizable and contains a Gδ orbit G · x0, then it is isomorphic to the completion of the homogeneous space G/Gx0 and show how this result translates naturally in terms of structural Ramsey theory. We also investigate universal minimal proximal flows and describe concrete representations of them in a number of examples.

We prove that it is relatively consistent with ZFC that in any perfect Polish space, for every nonmeager set A there exists a nowhere dense Cantor set C such that A∩C is nonmeager in C. We also examine variants of this result and establish a measure theoretic analog.
