Introduction Range and diffusion of positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals are important parameters for image resolution in positron emission tomography (PET). In this study, GEANT4 toolkit was applied to study positron diffusion in soft tissues with and without a magnetic field for six commonly used isotopes in PET imaging including 11 C, 13 N, 15 O, 18 F, 68 Ga, and 82 Rb. Materials and Metho...

We describe the UK computational implementation of the R-matrix method for the treatment of electron and positron scattering from molecules. Recent developments in the UKRmol suite are detailed together with the collision processes it is enabling us to treat.

In this paper an introduction to the physics of deep-inelastic scattering is given together with an account of some of the most recent results on the proton structure obtained in electron– and positron–proton collisions at the HERA collider.

We present an element specific and spatially resolved view of magnetic domains in Co/Pt heterostructures in the extreme ultraviolet spectral range. Resonant small-angle scattering and coherent imaging with Fourier-transform holography reveal nanoscale magnetic domain networks via magnetic dichroism of Co at the M2,3 edges as well as via strong dichroic signals at the O2,3 and N6,7 edges of Pt. ...

Ab initio molecular R-matrix calculations are presented for collisions of low-energy positrons with the hydrogen fluoride molecule as a function of HF internuclear separation. Calculations presented are for Z total symmetry with and without polarization eA'ects. These calculations mirror recent electron-HF scattering calculations by Morgan and Burke. Strong evidence is obtained for the presence...

The penetration of charged particles through matter is determined by the outcomes of countless Coulomb collisions with atoms and atomic electrons. It is a useful schematization to classify these collisions as soft and hard. Soft collisions, with impact parameters large compared to atomic dimensions are extremely numerous, and give rise to small energy losses and deflections. Hard collisions, wi...
