Primary cerebral rhabdomyosarcomas are very rare and malignant tumors that occur predominantly in the posterior fossa of pediatric patients. We report a rare case of primary cerebral rhabdomyosarcoma located in the supratentorial compartment of a 51 year-old woman together with a review of the pertinent Literature especially regarding the histological diagnosis and pitfalls.
BACKGROUND Posterior fossa arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are considered to have a higher risk of poor outcome, as are AVMs with associated aneurysms. We postulated that posterior fossa malformations may be more prone to associated feeder vessel aneurysms, and to aneurysmal source of hemorrhage. OBJECTIVE To examine the prevalence and hemorrhagic risk of posterior fossa AVM-associated fee...
BACKGROUND Hemangioblastomas (HBLs) are benign neoplasms that contribute to 1-2.5% of intracranial tumors and 7-12% of posterior fossa lesions in adult patients. HBLs either evolve hereditarily in association with von Hippel-Lindau disease (vHL) or, more prevalently, as solitary sporadic tumors. Only few authors have reported on the clinical presentation and the neurological outcome of HBL. M...
Posterior fossa tumors (PFT) are the most common in children. Differentiation between various PFT types is critical, as different have diverse treatment approaches. This study proposes use of fused architecture comprising two neural networks, a pre-trained ResNet-50 Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and tabular based network for classification PFT. The included data 158 MRI scans 22 healthy co...
