The impact of capital mobility restrictions on the diversification benefit for risk at the group level of a financial conglomerate is an important aspect in risk management. In this paper we propose a new bottom-up approach for realizing diversification benefits using some predetermined capital and risk transfer instruments, taking counter-party default risk into account.
Given a sequence φ = (φn) of non-negative integers, we examine two related questions about dynamical realizations of φ. The sequence is exactly realizable if there is a dynamical system (X, T) (a homeomorphism of a compact metric space) for which fn(T) = #{x ∈ X | T n x = x} = φn for all n ≥ 1, and is realizable in rate if there is a dynamical system (X, T) for which fn(T)/φn −→ 1 as n → ∞. We ...
A. Proofs for Realizable Setting Proof of Lemma 3. Let ∆ := ŵ −w∗ be the difference between the true answer and solution to the optimization problem. Let S to be the support of w∗ and let S = [d] \ S be the complements of S. Consider the permutation i1, . . . , id−k of S for which |∆(ij)| ≥ |∆(ij+1)| for all j. That is, the permutation dictated by the magnitude of the entries of ∆ outside of S....
An (nk) configuration is a set of n points and n lines such that each point lies on k lines while each line contains k points. The configuration is geometric, topological, or combinatorial depending on whether lines are considered to be straight lines, pseudolines, or just combinatorial lines. The existence and enumeration of (nk) configurations for a given k has been subject to active research...
The computational formulation of a new nonequilibrium Reynolds stress closure is presented along with preliminary validation results for both homogeneous and inhomogeneous turbulent flow problems of practical engineering importance. The new nonequilibrium closure, which has been rigorously derived elsewhere, replaces the classical Boussinesq hypothesis appearing in many current two-equation tur...
A polyhedral map is called {p, q}-equivelar if each face has p edges and each vertex belongs to q faces. In [12], it was shown that there exist infinitely many geometrically realizable {p, q}-equivelar polyhedral maps if q > p = 4, p > q = 4 or q − 3 > p = 3. It was shown in [6] that there exist infinitely many {4, 4}and {3, 6}-equivelar polyhedral maps. In [1], it was shown that {5, 5}and {6, ...
We theoretically propose an experimentally viable scheme to use impurity atom in a dipolar Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC), order probe analogue low-energy Lorentz violation from the modified dispersion at high energies as suggested by quantum theories of gravity. show that density fluctuations BEC possess Lorentz-violating Bogoliubov spectrum $\omega_\mathbf{k}=c_0|\mathbf{k}|f(c_0|\mathbf{k}|/...
