The zinc-fingers and homeoboxes protein 1 (ZHX1) consists of 873 amino acid residues, is localized in the cell nucleus and appears to act as a transcriptional repressor. Previous studies have shown that ZHX1 interacts with nuclear factor Y subunit α (NF-YA), DNA methyltransferases (DNMT) 3B and ZHX2, all of which are involved in tumorigenesis. However, the exact role of ZHX1 in tumorigenesis re...

BACKGROUND Tuberculosis has been announced as a global emergency by World Health Organization and the second infectious agent of mortality worldwide. The general policy in the development of new vaccines is to develop some vaccines with higher efficiency not only for infants but also for adults compared with the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccine. Recently, cytochrome P450 cyp141 has been introdu...

introduction: neurotrophins, as a family of proteins, are responsible for induction of the survival, development, and function of neurons. also, neurotropic factors are growth factors like neurotrophins that help neurons survive. moreover, neurotrophins differentiate between progenitor cells so that neurons are formed. despite the fact that the majority of mammalian brain neurons are produced p...

Avian influenza (AI) is a highly contagious and rapidly evolving pathogen of major concern to the poultry industry and human health. Rapid and accurate detection of avian influenza virus is a necessary tool for control of outbreaks and surveillance. The AI virus A/Chicken/Malaysia/5858/2004 (H5N1) was used as a template to produce DNA clones of the full-length NS1 genes via reverse transcriptas...

background: echinococcosis or hydatid disease is a zoonotic infection caused by larval (metacestode) stages of cestodes belonging to the genus echinococcus, family taeniidae . we aimed to subclone antigen b gene in pqe-30 plasmid, its expression, and purification. methods: we subcloned hi gene into pqe-30 expression vector. the recombinant vector was transformed into e. coli , m15 and mass cult...

Background: Staphylococcal protein A (SPA) is a cell wall component of Staphylococcus aureus that binds to different IgG subclasses of human and several animal species. This bacterial protein can be used as an antibody detector in various immunological assays or as an isolation reagent for the purification of antibody molecules via immuno-chromatography procedures. Objectives: Molecular cl...

The nucleotide sequence at the oriT region of the IncI1 plasmid R64 was determined. A recombinant plasmid carrying a 141-base-pair R64 sequence was mobilized with a normal frequency, while a plasmid carrying only 44 base pairs of this R64 sequence was mobilized with a frequency 1/10 that of the original plasmid. The oriT region of the R64 plasmid contains two inverted-repeat sequences.

Abstract To mimic the Escherichia coli T7 protein expression system, we developed a facile promoter-based system in an industrial microorganism Bacillus subtilis . This has two parts: new B. strain SCK22 and plasmid pHT7. construct SCK22, RNA polymerase gene was inserted into chromosome, several genes, such as major protease spore generation-related gene, fermentation foam were knocked out to f...

Transient gene expression (TGE) in mammalian cells is a method of rapidly generating recombinant protein material for initial characterisation studies that does not require time-consuming processes associated with stable cell line construction. High TGE yields are heavily dependent on efficient delivery plasmid DNA across both the plasma and nuclear membranes. Here, we harness nucleoside diphos...

Maintenance of recombinant plasmid vectors in host bacteria relies on the presence of selection antibiotics in the growth media to suppress plasmid -free segregants. However, presence of antibiotic resistance genes and antibiotics themselves is not acceptable in several applications of biotechnology. Previously, we have shown that FabV-Triclosan selection system can be used to select high and m...
