A zeolite-catalyzed, simple, one-pot, solvent-free, cost effective, and environmentally benign process for the synthesis of dihydropyrimidones is described. This reaction is scaleable to multigram scale and the catalyst is recyclable. This methodology has resulted in an efficient synthesis of monastrol, a potent inhibitor of kinesin Eg5.

A novel silica catalyst was synthesized by evaporation-induced self-assembly (EISA) method and tested for the catalytic selective hydrolysis of cellulose to glucose. This silica catalyst exhibited a higher catalytic activity than other oxides prepared by the same method, such as ZrO2, TiO2, and Al2O3. Using silica as a catalyst, cellulose was selectively hydrolyzed into glucose with a glucose y...

The nitrogen-substituted delaminated ITQ-2 zeolite was found to be a highly active and recyclable catalyst for the Knoevenagel condensation of bulky aromatic aldehydes with ethyl cyanoacetate which cannot take place over the base sites placed within the micropores of conventional zeolites due to spatial limitations.

We report a robust and recyclable 'dip-catalyst' based on a gold nanoparticle (Au NP)-loaded filter paper composite, prepared by a simple dip-coating process using concentrated Au NP suspensions in toluene. While acting as catalysts, the composites display excellent surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) efficiency, allowing the real-time monitoring of chemical reactions.

Monoclinic CuO crystallite in grams has been obtained from resin bound Cu(II)-1,10-phenanthroline complex, R(-)[Cu(1,10-phen)(2)](2+) that becomes a recyclable catalyst for oxidative phenol coupling (OPC) reaction. Thus an exclusively intuitive blue fluorescing perylene derivative is derived from colorless 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene (2,7-DHN) in high yield.

This review presents a summary of reactions performed using microwave irradiation. This green processes have resulted through use of less or no catalyst, readily recyclable solvents and yield that are often higher than conventional method. It also focus on the principle of microwave activation, various types of Microwave Reactor and its characteristics.

CuI nanoparticles as an expedient and recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of N-cyclohexyl-3-aryl-quinoxaline-2-amines in ethanol via a multi-component reaction are established. The products were separated from the catalyst simply by filtration. The catalyst could be recycled and reused for several times without noticeably decreasing the catalytic activity.

• Pyrolysis and sulfonation convert starch-based plastic (SBP) bags into SO 3 H-catalyst. H-catalyst from SBP-bags well-catalyzes the esterification of fatty acids. is robust recyclable for more than 7 cycles. Highly pure terephthalic acid self-precipitates pyrolysis liquid. liquid enriched in levoglucosan, adipic monobutenyl esters. was explored as a technology depolymerizing charring novel va...
