Reversible logic has attracted significance attention in recent years, leading to different approaches such as synthesis, optimization, simulation and verification. In this paper, we propose the design and optimization of n-bit reversible binary comparator. The circuit for MSB and one-bit comparator cell using NOT, PG and CNOT gates are designed. The n-bit reversible binary comparator is design...

Reversible or information-lossless circuits have applications in digital signal processing, communication, computer graphics, and cryptography. They are also a fundamental requirement in the emerging field of quantum computation. We investigate the synthesis of reversible circuits that employ a minimum number of gates and contain no redundant input–output line-pairs (temporary storage channels)...

— Reliability of Circuits is one of the major concerns in VLSI circuits and systems designs. Negative Bias Temperature Instability(NBTI), which has a deteriorating effect on the threshold voltage and the drive current of semiconductor devices, is emerging as a major reliability degradation mechanism [1].An important Reliability issue in the recent times is the Negative bias temperature instabil...

AbstractIn today’s world everyday a new technology which is faster, smaller and more complex than its predecessor is being developed. The increased number of transistors packed onto a chip of a conventional system results in increased power consumption that is why Reversible logic has drawn attention of Researchers due to its less heat dissipating characteristics. Reversible logic can be impose...

This paper deals with the reversible circuits with n input and output nodes, consisting of the reversible gates FAN-IN=FAN-OUT≤ 2. We define a normal form of such type of circuits and describe a reduction algorithm to transform a circuit in this form. Furthermore we use it for checking whether two circuits are equivalent to each other without evaluating them.

The synthesis of Boolean functions, as they are found in many quantum algorithms, is usually conducted in two steps. First, the function is realized in terms of a reversible circuit followed by a mapping into a corresponding quantum realization. During this process, the number of lines and the quantum costs of the resulting circuits have mainly been considered as optimization objectives thus fa...

This paper is a review of the existing testing algorithms for reversible circuits. Although a great amount of effort has been made on finding means to build reversible gates and circuits, little research has been done on the modeling the faults of reversible circuits according to their process technology and consequently on the development of testing algorithms for reversible circuits. The exis...

An r-valued m-variable reversible logic function maps each of the rm input patters to a unique output pattern. The synthesis problem is to realize a reversible function by a cascade of primitive reversible gates. In this paper, we present a simple heuristic algorithm that exploits the bidirectional synthesis possibility inherent in the reversibility of the specification. The primitive reversibl...

In the recent scenario of microelectronic industry, the reversible logic is considered as the burgeonic technology for digital circuit designing. It deals with the aim to generate digital circuits with zero power loss characteristics. Optical computing, Nanotechnology, Low power CMOS design and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) processors are leading areas of development with the concept of rever...
