This study aimed to investigate the chemical composition of steam distillate essential oil and corresponding hydrolate obtained from S. officinalis grown in Serbia, as well influence weather conditions (temperature precipitations) on their profiles. Furthermore, antimicrobial activity was investigated vitro. The main compounds were cis-thujone, followed by camphor, trans-thujone, 1,8-cineole, w...

The present study evaluates the phytochemical constituents, antimicrobial, antioxidant capacity, total phenolic content, ferrous ion chelating, tyrosinase inhibition, superoxide anion and nitric oxide radical scavenging activity of the leaf essential oil of Artemisia ciniformis Krasch. & Popov ex Poljakov.,from Iran. Oxygenated monoterpenes (92.4%), especially camphor (32....

Plants produce thousands of primary and secondary metabolites including volatile compounds at various developmental stages throughout their life cycle during flowering, ripening, and maturation. Lavandin known for its volatile compounds is a small aromatic shrub cultivated worldwide for the essential oil. Lavandin essential oil composition is greatly influenced by the environmental and genetic ...

In our screening program for new agrochemicals from local wild plants, Artemisia capillaris and A. mongolica were found to possess insecticidal activity against the maize weevil, Sitophilus zeamais. The essential oils of aerial parts of the two plants were obtained by hydrodistillation and were investigated by GC and GC-MS. The main components of A. capillaris essential oil were 1,8-cineole (13...

Composition of the essential oil obtained from dried flowering aerial parts of Teucrium scordium L. (Labiatae) was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Fifty-six components were identified in the essential oil of T. scordium. The major constituents of the oil were beta-caryophyllene (22.8%), (E)-beta-farnesene (10.4%), caryophyllene oxide (8.6%), 1,8-cineole (6.1%) and beta-eudesmol (5.1%).

Essential oil components were extracted from Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) flowers using pressurized fluid extraction (PFE). A Box-Behnken design was used to optimize the effective extraction variables. The chemical composition of extracted samples was analyzed by gas chromatograph-flame ionization detector column. For achieving maximum % extraction yield the temperature, pressure, and dyna...

The composition of essential oil isolated from Achillea eriophora, Achillea millefolium, Achillea biebersteinii and Achillea tenuifolia growing wild in the south west of Iran, was analyzed.  A. eriophora, A. millefolium and A. tenuifolia essential oils were characterized by sabinene, 1, 8-cineole, terpinene-4-ol, ά –bisabolol, p-Cymene, β-pinene and α-pinene. The A. biebersteinii essential oil ...
