This paper uses SAP2000 finite element software to perform nonlinear time history analysis of nine structural systems, and compares the period, total floor displacement, base shear force, vertex top acceleration structure under action an 8-degree rare earthquake. The research results show that seismic isolation damping technology can effectively reduce impact earthquakes on structures.

Story-added type apartments have recently been introduced as an option to resolve the housing supply shortage in areas that are undergoing rapid industrialization and urbanization. However, infrastructure of old apartment buildings (>20 years old) makes it difficult introduce convenient facilities recent technologies such those involving Internet Things augmented realities. Applying existing...

in this paper a new isolating system is introduced for short to mid-rise buildings. in comparison to conventional systems such as lrb and hrb, the proposed system has the advantage of no need to cutting edge technology and has low manufacturing cost. this system is made up of two orthogonal pairs of pillow-shaped rollers that are located between flat bed and plates. by using this system in two ...

performance seismic evaluation is an important topic in earthquake engineering. in this regard, several methods have previously been developed and used. the main objective of present research is to evaluate two methods including “capacity spectrum method (csm)” and “improved capacity spectrum method (icsm)” in determination of seismic performance of concrete frames. for this purpose, several sa...

Endurance time (ET) method is a relatively new performance-based earthquake method for structural evaluation and design. In this method, the structure is subjected to a gradually intensifying accelorogram(s) and its performance is assessed based on the maximum time duration that it can meet the specified performance objectives. Using moment-resisting and braced frames which are rehabilitated by...
