In this paper, a reliable method for detecting human faces in color images is proposed. This system firstly detects skin color in YCgCr and YIQ color space, then filters binary texture and the result is morphological processed, finally converts skin tone to the preferred skin color configured by users in YIQ color space. The real-time adjusting circuit is implemented and some of simulation resu...

A current concern in genetic epidemiology studies in admixed populations is that population stratification can lead to spurious results. The Brazilian census classifies individuals according to self-reported "color", but several studies have demonstrated that stratifying according to "color" is not a useful strategy to control for population structure, due to the dissociation between self-repor...

In the current era of World Wide Web, human skin detection is a critical parameter in computer vision and image processing applications. With diverse range of applications in forensic sciences, medical imaging, pornography filtering, image retrieval, video surveillance etc., skin detection algorithms are to face many challenges. The major problems in detection of human skin color are varying sh...

Images of a scene captured with multiple cameras will have different color values because of variations in color rendering across devices. We present a method to accurately retrieve color information from uncalibrated images taken under uncontrolled lighting conditions with an unknown device and no access to raw data, but with a limited number of reference colors in the scene. The method is use...

Human skin color is predominantly determined by melanin produced in melanosomes within melanocytes and subsequently distributed to keratinocytes. There are many studies that have proposed mechanisms underlying ethnic skin color variations, whereas the processes involved from melanin synthesis in melanocytes to the transfer of melanosomes to keratinocytes are common among humans. Apart from the ...

The objective of this paper is to show that for every color space there exists an optimum skin detector scheme such that the performance of all these skin detectors schemes is the same. To that end, a theoretical proof is provided and experiments are presented which show that the separability of the skin and no skin classes is independent of the color space chosen.
