l-asparaginase has remarkable properties which make it useful in dual pharmaceutical and food industries.in this study, simple and advantageous method has been validated for rapid and precise determination of intracellular l-asparaginasein bacterial species. a suspension of bacterial cells was used instead ofcell extract and incubated by substrate (asparagine) after simple wash and centrifugati...

Nanotoxicological research has shown toxicity of nanomaterials to be inversely related to particle size. However, the contribution of agglomeration to the toxicity of nanomaterials has not been sufficiently studied, although it is known that agglomeration is associated with increased nanomaterial size. In this study, we prepared aerosols of nano-sized carbon black by 2 different ways to verify ...

Recently, there has been considerable interest in the use of nanofluids for enhancing thermal performance. It has been shown that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are capable of enhancing the thermal performance of conventional working liquids. Although much work has been devoted on the impact of CNT concentrations on the thermo-physical properties of nanofluids, the effects of preparation methods on th...

The use of engineered nanomaterials has grown dramatically over the past decade as the pharmaceutical, electronics, and other industries leverage these materials’ unique physical and chemical properties. In environmental circles, nanomaterials have aroused concern because, even as their use burgeons, their impact on animal and plant life remains largely unknown. Moreover, scientists studying th...

Biofilm removal efficacy of vortexing alone was compared with the standard vortexing-sonication procedure. Among 135 removed prostheses, 35 were diagnosed with infection and 100 with aseptic failure. At a cutoff of ≥ 50 CFU/ml, sonication was more sensitive than vortexing (60% versus 40%, P = 0.151), while the specificity was 99% for both methods.

Introduction: A recent development in the treatment of uterine fibroids is the use of magnetic resonance guided high intensity focused ultrasound (MR-HIFU), which has been tested in several clinical trials and has been approved for clinical use in several countries In a traditional MR-HIFU treatment, a single focal point is iteratively sonicated at a time until the desired volume is ablated, wi...

The influence of tip sonication duration on the spectral characteristics of carbon single-walled nanotubes (SWNTs) in aqueous suspension with single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) has been studied by NIR luminescence, NIR absorption, and Raman spectroscopy. It was revealed that prolongation of sonication leads to weakening of the SWNT polymer coverage and appearance of additional defects on the nanotube ...

Transdermal drug delivery makes a critical contribution to medical practice and some advantages over conventional oral administration and hypodermic injection. Enhancement of percutaneous absorption or penetration of therapeutic agents (ie, drugs and macromolecules) by ultrasound, termed sonophoresis, has been applied and studied for decades. In this study, the penetration percentage through po...
