This article looks at the Soret and Dufour effects on the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) peristaltic flow of variable viscosity fluid in a symmetric channel. Analysis is presented in the presence of Ohmic heating. Results for the stream function, temperature and concentration are constructed. The variations of sundry parameters are analyzed.

5,10,15,20-Tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl) [22]pentaphyrin(1.1.1.1.1) 7 was synthesised and its bis-rhodium(I) complex 12 has been revealed to be a non-fused, yet planar pentaphyrin with an inverted pyrrole. Both 7 and 12 are aromatic, showing sharp Soret-like bands and diatropic ring currents.

For an ionic melt consisting of two components and of three ion constituents, we derive the interrelation between the Soret coefficient and the initial and final values of the thermoelectric power of a thermocell containing the melt considered. We only use the general formulas of Thermodynamics of Irreversible Processes and there is no restriction with respect to the valency types of the electr...

Novel ionic water-soluble tetrabenzoporphyrins have been successfully synthesized via a cascade reaction based on the Heck reaction. The UV-Vis spectra of these porphyrins displayed red-shifted and broadened Soret bands, and significantly enhanced Q bands. These porphyrins are highly water soluble.

Abstract In this short paper, some analytical results found in “Double-diffusive Soret convection phenomenon porous media: effect of Vadasz inertia term” by F. Capone, R. De Luca, M. Vitiello, Ricerche Mat. 68, 581–595 (2019), are recalled order to better explore the dynamic thermosolutal a horizontal layer with influence and terms.

T he Soret effect, also known as thermodiffusion, is a classic example of coupled transport (1) in which directed motion of a particle or macromolecule is driven by f low of heat down a thermal gradient. Generally, a particle moves from hot to cold, but the reverse is also seen under some conditions. Although it has been known for 150 years, the microscopic explanation of the Soret effect has r...

We set up a discrete space-time dynamical model of molecules with thermalised kinetic energy and repulsive cores, in an external potential. The model obeys the first and second laws of thermodynamics. The continuum limit, obtained using a MAPLE program, gives rise to coupled reaction-diffusion equations for the density and temperature fields. The system obeys Onsager symmetry and exhibits the S...

The development of clean and renewable energy sources reflects the limited fossil resources and severe environmental problems caused by their combustion. Infinite and inexhaustible solar energy is a key resource to meet a rapidly increasing global demand for energy. Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) are promising devices to generate clean energy as an alternative to the traditional solar cells ...
