This paper presents a wavelet threshold selection technique for noise filtering and comparison of different noise reduction techniques used in image denoising. Additive noise is applied to the image and different wavelet technique is used to remove the noise from the image. Finally all the different techniques are compared for PSNR, SSIM improvement and the processing time required.

Abstract— JPEG is a popular DCT-based still image compression standard, which has played an important role in image storage and transmission since its development. Advanced Image Coding (AIC) is a still image compression system which combines the intra frame block prediction from H.264 with a JPEG-based discrete cosine transform followed by context adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC). It ...

Recently, Seshadrinathan and Bovik proposed the Motion-based Video Integrity Evaluation (MOVIE) index for VQA. MOVIE utilized a multi-scale spatio-temporal Gabor filter bank to decompose the videos and to compute motion vectors. Apart from its psychovisual inspiration, MOVIE is an interesting option for VQA owing to its performance. However, the use of MOVIE in a practical setting may prove to ...

Introduction SPECT projections are contaminated by scatter radiation, resulting in reduced image contrast and quantitative errors. Backscatter constitutes a major part of the scatter contamination in lower energy windows. The current study is an evaluation of the effect of backscatter material on FWHM and image quality investigated by Monte Carlo simulation. Materials and Methods SIMIND program...

Advancement in medical technology creates some issues related to data transmission as well storage. In real-time processing, it is too tedious limit the flow of may reduce meaningful information too. So, an efficient technique required compress data. This problem arises Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Electro Cardio Gram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), and other signal processing domains. ...

Predicting future frames through image-to-image translation and using these synthetically generated for high-speed ground vehicle teleoperation is a new concept to address latency enhance operational performance. In the immediate previous work, image quality of predicted was low lot scene detail lost. To preserve structural details objects improve overall in frames, several novel ideas are prop...

Ultrasound Imaging plays vital role in diagnoses a disease. US image suffers from speckle noise. Despeckling is an important task for accurate diagnosis. In this paper experiment has been performed to measure the effectiveness of various filters available for despeckling. Results are compared qualitatively and quantitatively the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and SSIM parameters are used to quantif...

In this paper a PDE based hybrid method for image denoising is introduced. The method is a bi-stage filter with anisotropic diffusion followed by wavelet based bayesian shrinkage. Here efficient denoising is achieved by reducing the convergence time of anisotropic diffusion. As the convergence time decreases, image blurring can be restricted and will produce a better denoised image than anisotr...
