objective(s): granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (g-csf) is used in clinical practice for the treatment of neutropenia and to stimulate generation of hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow donors. in the present study, the ability of g-csf in mobilizing exogenous bone marrow stem cells (bmscs) from peripheral blood into the brain was tested. we for the first time injected a small amount of ...

BACKGROUND Recently, the use of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) has been proposed to improve pregnancy outcomes in reproductive medicine. OBJECTIVE A systematic review of the current use of G-CSF in patients who have difficulty conceiving and maintaining pregnancy was performed. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two electronic databases (PubMed/ Medline and Scopus) were searched. Study se...

Large granular lymphocyte (LGL) leukemia is an uncommon lymphoproliferative disorder characterized by an expansion of CD3' and less frequently CD3lymphocytes.' In more than 80% of cases, severe neutropenia (neutrophils <0.5 X 109/L) is observed? The mechanism responsible for inhibition of granulopoiesis remains controversial. LGL proliferation may suppress granulopoiesis either directly or indi...

Although different types of granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-producing carcinomas have been reported, G-CSF-producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is extremely rare. The prognosis of G-CSF-producing esophageal cancer has generally been reported to be very poor. Here, we report three cases of G-CSF-producing SCC who were successfully treated by use of multimodal therapy.

The effects of bone marrow-conditioned medium obtained from colony-stimulating factor-producing tumor-bearing nude mice (G-BM-CM) on mouse and human granulocyte-macrophage colony formation and mouse erythroid colony and burst formation were studied. Addition of G-BM-CM into the mouse granulocyte-macrophage colony-forming system containing colony-stimulating activity more strongly inhibited gran...

The process of differentiation from monocytes to dendritic cells is critical in immune modulation. Monocyte apoptosis is a key regulator in balancing the immune response. Galectin‑1 has been reported to induce tolerogenic dendritic cells by the autocrine interleukin (IL)‑10 in monocytes. However, IL‑10 has been found to induce apoptosis in IL‑4/granulocyte macrophage colony‑stimulating factor (...

In this study granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (CSF) was prepared from rabbit and guinea pig lung tissues. The biological activity of these CSFs was measured on semisolid agar culture and compared with those of mouse and rat. Weight of animals, incubation time and cross-reactivity of CSFs with different bone marrow sources were also investigated. The results showed that both...

Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) stimulates production of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) protein and mRNA in fibroblast cells. In contrast, TNF beta is at least 1,000-fold less potent than TNF alpha in increasing levels of G-CSF and GM-CSF activity and mRNA. The fibroblasts produce G-CSF and GM-CSF mRNA in a coordinate fashion after exposure to TNF. The ability of TNF alph...
