Two updated lists of publications on environmental scanning electron microscopy are compiled. One list contains mainly those papers dealing with the development and instrumentation, while the other deals mainly with the applications of the technique. A brief introductory summary of the field is presented.

This paper revisits/extends “Principles for Designing Computer Music Controllers” (NIME 2001), subsequently updated in a NIME 2007 keynote address. A redesign of SqueezeVox Maggie (a reoccurring NIME character) is used as an example of which principles have held fast over the years, and which have changed due to advances in technology. A few new principles are also added to the list.

This paper, to be regularly updated, lists those prime knots with the fewest possible number of crossings for which values of basic knot invariants, such as the unknotting number or the smooth 4–genus, are unknown. This list is being developed in conjunction with KnotInfo (www.indiana.edu/ ̃knotinfo), a webbased table of knot invariants.
