A precise air pollution forecast is the basis for targeted control and sustained improvements in quality. It desirable crucial to select most suitable model forecasting (APF). To achieve this goal, paper provides a comprehensive evaluation of performances different models simulating common pollutants (e.g., PM2.5, NO2, SO2, CO) Guangzhou (23.13° N, 113.26° E), China. simulate temporal variation...

We present here a new simulator for visceral needle puncture training in interventional radiology. This is the result of a close collaboration between different universities, involving computer scientists, clinicians and clinical engineers. Together, we address the need of segmentation, physically-based modelling, haptics rendering, pseudo-ultrasound generation and the conception of a mannequin...

We present a simple extension of the well-known TCP steady-state throughput equation by Padhye et al. which can be used to calculate the throughput of several flows that share an end-to-end path at the same time. The value of this extension, which we show to work well with validations using ns-2 simulations as well as real-life measurements, is its applicability in practice and its ease of use.

Multi-Scale Simulator for the Geoenvironment (MSSG), which is a coupled non-hydrostatic atmosphere-ocean-land model, has been developed in the Earth simulator Center. Outline of MSSG is introduced and characteristics are presented. In MSSG development procedure, impact of CIP-CSLR schemes is explored and of turbulence on cloud droplet collisions in meso-scale convective clouds have been investi...

Energy usage is becoming a challenge for the design of next generation large scale distributed systems. This paper explores an innovative approach of profiling such systems. It proposes a DNA-like solution without making any assumptions on the running applications and used hardware. This profiling based on internal counters usage and energy monitoring allows to isolate specific phases during th...

We have developed an effective model to investigate the energetic stability of hydrogenated group-IV nanostructures, followed by validations from density-functional theory calculations. The Hamiltonian of XmHn (X = C, Si, Ge, and Sn) is expressed analytically by the atom numbers (m, n) and the magic numbers of diamond nanocrystals and silicon nanocrystals are determined. It is found that surfac...

In this paper we report results for recognizing colorectal NBI endoscopic images by using features extracted from convolutional neural network (CNN). In this comparative study, we extract features from different layers from different CNN models, and then train linear SVM classifiers. Experimental results with 10-fold cross validations show that features from first few convolution layers are eno...
