Accelerometers are applied to various applications to collect information about movements of other sensors deployed at diverse fields ranging from underwater area to human body. In this study, we try to characterize the nonlinear relationship between motion artifact and acceleration data. The cross bicoherence test and the Volterra filter are used as the approaches to detection and modeling. We...
Local regularization methods for ill-posed linear Volterra equations have been shown to be efficient regularization procedures preserving the causal structure of the Volterra problem and allowing for sequential solution methods. However questions posed recently in Ring and Prix (2000 Inverse Problems 16 619–34) raise doubts as to whether such methods are convergent for problems which are more t...
Since Lotka and Volterra’s seminal and pioneering works (see [10]) many decades ago, modeling of interacting, competing species have received considerable attention in the fields of biology, ecology, mathematics (for example, see [3, 9]). In their remarkably simple deterministic model, Lotka and Volterra considered two coupled nonlinear differential equations that mimic the temporal evolution o...
This paper proposes a three-step method for solving nonlinear Volterra integralequations system. The proposed method convents the system to a (3 × 3)nonlinear block system and then by solving this nonlinear system we ndapproximate solution of nonlinear Volterra integral equations system. To showthe advantages of our method some numerical examples are presented.
In this paper, we studied the numerical solution of nonlinear weakly singular Volterra-Fredholm integral equations by using the product integration method. Also, we shall study the convergence behavior of a fully discrete version of a product integration method for numerical solution of the nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations. The reliability and efficiency of the proposed scheme are...
In this article the nonlinear mixed Volterra-Fredholm integral equations are investigated by means of the modied three-dimensional block-pulse functions (M3D-BFs). This method converts the nonlinear mixed Volterra-Fredholm integral equations into a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. The illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the applicability and simplicity of our scheme.
In the paper stochastic Volterra equations of nonscalar type in Hilbert space are studied. The aim of the paper is to provide some results on stochastic convolution and mild solutions to those Volterra equations. The motivation of the paper comes from a model of aging viscoelastic materials. The pseudo-resolvent approach is used.
In this paper, the successive overrelaxation iteration and the variation of parameters formula are used to discuss the stability of linear and nonlinear Volterra integrodifferential equations. Some sufficient conditions are obtained, such that the trivial solution of the Volterra integrodifferential equations is asymptotically stable; these stability conditions are given directly from the coeff...
We first give a criterion for positivity of the solution semigroup of linear Volterra integro-differential systems. Then, we offer some explicit conditions under which the solution of a positive linear Volterra system is exponentially stable or (robustly) lies in L2[0,+∞). In the first part of the paper, we obtain existence and characterizations of an optimal control for a linear quadratic control problem of linear stochastic Volterra equations. In the second part, using the Malliavin calculus approach, we deduce a general maximum principle for optimal control of general stochastic Volterra equations.
