Context. Data from ground-based, high-resolution solar telescopes can only be used for science with calibrations and processing, which requires detailed knowledge about the instrumentation. Space-based provide science-ready data, are easier to work researchers whose expertise is in interpretation of data. Recently, data-processing pipelines ground-based instruments have been constructed. Aims. ...

In this paper we study the L-fuzzy hyperoperation t, which generalizes the crisp Nakano hyperoperation t1. We construct t using a family of crisp tp hyperoperations as its p-cuts. The hyperalgebra (X,t,∧) can be understood as an L-fuzzy hyperlattice. AMS Classification: 06B99, 06D30, 08A72, 03E72, 20N20.

The bi-criteria fixed charge transportation problem is an extension of the classical transportation problem. The bi-criteria fixed charge transportation problem in a crisp environment is, often, not effective in dealing with imprecision or vagueness in the values of the problem parameters. To deal with such situations, it has been proposed that the parameters should be represented as fuzzy numb...

PURPOSE To quantify the impact of diagnostic confidence on radiological diagnosis with a fuzzy logic-based method. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-two oncologic patients with 20 cysts and 30 metastases ≤1 cm in size found at 64-row computed tomography were included. Two readers (R1/R2) expressed diagnoses as a subjective level of confidence P(d) in malignancy within the interval [0,1] rather tha...

in this paper the solution of a second order linear di erential equations with intu-itionistic fuzzy boundary value is described. it is discussed for two di erent cases: coecientis positive crisp number and coecient is negative crisp number. here fuzzy numbers aretaken as generalized trapezoidal intutionistic fuzzy numbers (gtrifns). further a numericalexample is illustrated.

In order to estimate fuzzy regression models, possibilistic and least-squares procedures can be considered. By taking into account a least-squares approach, regression models with crisp or fuzzy inputs and crisp or fuzzy output are suggested. In particular, for these fuzzy regression models, unconstrained and constrained (with inequality restrictions) least-squares estimation procedures are dev...

Fuzzy Description Logics (FDLs) have been introduced to reason about vague or imprecise knowledge in application domains. In recent years, reasoning in many FDLs based on infinitely many values has been proved to be undecidable [3,15] and systematic studies have been undertaken on this topic [8]. On the other hand, every finite-valued FDL that has been studied in the recent literature has not o...

The rise of data mining has brought many changes to people’s lives but also to companies and the importance of data analysis. Companies always had a tendency to gather as much data as possible but it has only been recently due to the developments in IT that large quantities of data can be analyzed in a fast and easy way. This new field gave rise to the methodology of Cross Industry Standard Pro...

We propose an extension of the Conn-Index to evaluate fuzzy cluster solutions obtained from fuzzy prototype vector quantization, whereas the original Conn-Index was designed for crisp vector quantization models. The fuzzy index explicitly takes the fuzzy assignments resulting from fuzzy vector quantization into account. This avoids the information loss which would occur if the original crisp in...

In this paper ∗–compatible extensions of fuzzy relations are studied, generalizing some results obtained by Duggan in case of crisp relations. From this general result are obtained as particular cases fuzzy versions of some important extension theorems for crisp relations (Szpilrajn, Hansson, Suzumura). Two notions of consistent closure of a fuzzy relation are introduced.
