We show that the criticism of a recent comment [1] on the insecurity of a quantum secret sharing protocol proposed in [2] is based on a misconception about the meaning of security and hence is invalid. The same misconception also appears in another comment of the authors [3] on the security of an entangled-based quantum key distribution protocol [4, 5].

In this Comment, we point out that the Euler-Lagrange equations, which are referred to as the general equilibrium equations by Zhao et al. [Phys. Rev. E 74, 032801 (2006)] are incorrect along with the equations which are derived from them. The correct equations are provided in this Comment. We produce new numerical results with the use of the correct equations.

When the editor invites comment on a response to an analysis of a criticism of a protocol already defended by the author in this journal, the issue is clearly contentious. I will comment briefly on Thomas's paper in this issue of the journal, and look at points of agreement as well as dissent.

This is a comment on the previously published paper "Enhancement of nonlinear optical properties of BaTiO3 nanoparticles by the addition of silver seeds," [Opt. Express20, 26511 (2012)10.1364/OE.20.026511]. An erroneous equation given in the manuscript is corrected with a more accurate equation in this comment.

COMMENT. The authors comment that the benefit in persistent migraine relief rates found for dexamethasone in this study should be interpreted with caution because this was a subgroup analysis. We respond to the comment submitted by Xian Feng on our recent Letter, Opt. Lett.38, 4679 (2013). The comment addressed the attenuation of our oxide tellurite glass labeled TWPN/I/6. We provide the originally measured absorbance spectrum of the glass and correct values of its mid-infrared attenuation.

We comment on several aspects of Skilling's paper presented at Valencia 8. In particular we prove the convergence in probability of the algorithm for a wide class of situations, comment on its potential utility and discuss aspects where further work is needed to assess the approach.
