Fast tool servo systems with high precision and speed pose significant challenges to control at the nano-scale. The saturation of actions, time delays system uncertainties further complicate challenges. To address these problems, we propose a Smith predictor based robust anti-windup scheme in this article, such that performance nano-accuracy can be achieved case saturations, model uncertainties...

The dynamic lift response of an airfoil to sinusoidal amplitude variations from a synthetic jet actuator was studied. The wing was at a fixed angle of attack, and the actuator operated in a ‘burst-mode’ with a fixed duty cycle. The actuator burst amplitude was used as a control signal, which was varied between an ‘off’ condition and the actuator saturation voltage. Three dimensionless frequenci...

Based on discrete event-triggered communication scheme (DETCS), this paper is concerned with the satisfactory H ! / H 2 event-triggered fault-tolerant control problem for networked control system (NCS) with α -safety degree and actuator saturation constraint from the perspective of improving satisfaction of fault-tolerant control and saving network resource. Firstly, the closed-loop NCS model w...

In this work we show that the anti-wind-up-bumpless-transfer controller emerges from the structure of model predictive control (MPC) with quadratic objective and input constrains. The key to establish that relationship is the application of optimality conditions to the equivalent optimal control problem. The proposed framework employs a model of physical constraints as part of the controller ar...

This study presents a robust output feedback optimal HH∞ control synthesis for a class of uncertain seat suspension systems with actuator saturation and an uncertain actuator time delay. A vertical vibration model of human body is added in order to make the modeling of seat suspension systems more accurate. A dynamic controller is considered by using of two measurable states of the model, by re...

A method is proposed for studying robust stability of uncertain linear systems subject to actuator saturation. It hinges upon successive LMI relaxations and therefore can readily be implemented using widely available numerical tools. The technique is illustrated on two examples and is shown to signiicantly improve previously published results.

This paper proposes a fuzzy TSK controller to control a rotary flexible joint manipulator. The flexibility of joint is performed by means of a solenoid nonlinear spring, which is connected between actuator output and joint input in a bilateral connection form to transfer the produced torque; also the smooth model of frictions is used for modeling the dynamics of flexible manipulator. The effect...

This thesis presents a new actuator system consisting of a micro-actuator and a macroactuator coupled in parallel via a compliant transmission. The system is called the Parallel Coupled Micro-Macro Actuator, or PaCMMA. In this system, the micro-actuator is capable of high bandwidth force control due to its low mass and direct-drive connection to the output shaft. The compliant transmission of t...

Abstract—In this paper, sufficient conditions which guarantee that the discrete-time singular systems with actuator saturation are admissible with γdisturbance attenuation are established. With these conditions, the estimation of stability region, state feedback design and H∞ state feedback controllers are obtained by solving corresponding LMIs optimization problems. A numerical example to illu...
