INTRODUCTION The objective of this case report was to illustrate the diagnostic and intervention approach of anomalous right coronary artery (RCA). CLINICAL PICTURE A 60-year-old man presented with acute inferior myocardial infarction. Cardiac catheterisation revealed an anomalous RCA arising from the posterior coronary sinus as the infarct-related artery. TREATMENT Ad hoc percutaneous coro...

Anomalous origin of coronary arteries is generally asymptomatic and a rare disease. However, some cases can cause severe life-threatening events such as myocardial ischemia, arrhythmia, and acute myocardial infarction. We describe a case of a single coronary artery arising from the right sinus of Valsalva in a 48-year-old female patient with a complaint of stable angina pectoris and palpitation...

We here present the case of a rarely seen anomalous origin and retropulmonary course of the left circumflex artery from the proximal right coronary artery. The patient suffered from coronary ischemia due to stenotic lesions both in the aberrant circumflex coronary artery and in the first and second diagonal branches. Coronary bypass operation was performed.

A 2-month-old patient with anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) underwent an alternative repair involving coronary transfer with the bay window technique because of the very short left main coronary trunk. This procedure is a clinically relevant and feasible technique for ALCAPA with such a delicate coronary artery anomaly.

OBJECTIVES We sought to prospectively determine the incidence and clinical significance of major coronary artery anomalies in asymptomatic children using transthoracic two-dimensional echocardiography. BACKGROUND Anomalous origins of the left main coronary artery (ALMCA) from the right sinus of Valsalva or anomalous origins the right coronary artery (ARCA) from the left sinus are rarely diagn...

Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital anomaly. The usual clinical course is severe left sided heart failure and mitral valve insufficiency presenting during the first months of life. However, in some cases collateral blood supply from the right coronary artery is sufficient and symptoms may be subtle or even absent. Arrhythmias or s...
