Acorn, D. A., Hamilton, D. L., & Sherman, S. J. (1988). Generalization of biased perceptions of groups based on illusory correlations. Social Cognition, 6, 345-372. Exp 1's purpose was to see if an IC based on one dimension would influence trait judgments on another dimension. Cell sizes were 16:8:8:4. Three conditions (mixed, social and intellectual) and three dependent variables (trait rating...

 ‎In this article‎, ‎we first‎ ‎show that non-Noetherian Artinian uniserial modules over‎ ‎commutative rings‎, ‎duo rings‎, ‎finite $R$-algebras and right‎ ‎Noetherian rings are $1$-atomic exactly like $Bbb Z_{p^{infty}}$‎. ‎Consequently‎, ‎we show that if $R$ is a right duo (or‎, ‎a right‎ ‎Noetherian) ring‎, ‎then the Noetherian dimension of an Artinian‎ ‎module with homogeneous uniserial dim...

This paper presents a geometric method for parameterization, matching, and analysis of surface shapes. Surfaces are parameterized and represented by intrinsic coordinate maps derived from the conformal structure of the shape. This parameterization is invariant to rigid transformations of the shape, as well as angle-preserving parameterizations of the surface. Shape matching between coordinate m...

We give a survey of the known results concerning the sets c0(Λ), c(Λ) and c∞(Λ) including their basic topological properties, their first and second dual spaces, and the characterizations of matrix transformations from them into the spaces l∞, c and c0. Furthermore, we establish some new results such as the representations of the general bounded linear operators from c(Λ) into the spaces l∞, c ...

The theory of scale relativity extends Einstein’s principle of relativity to scale transformations of resolutions. It is based on the giving up of the axiom of differentiability of the space-time continuum. As a consequence, spacetime becomes fractal, i.e., explicitly resolution-dependent. The requirement that this geometry satisfies the principle of scale relativity leads to introduce scale la...

1. It has been shown by Radó3 that every Riemann surface satisfies Hausdorff's second countability axiom. In the same paper Radó gives a construction due to Prüfer of a real 2-dimensional locally Euclidean space whose open sets do not have a countable base. The purpose of this paper is to confirm a conjecture of Bochner that there exist non second-countable complex manifolds of complex dimensio...

Minimal Hausdorff (Baire) group topologies of certain groups of transformations naturally occurring in analysis are studied. The results obtained are subsequently applied to show that, e.g., the homeomorphism groups of the rational and of the irrational numbers carry no Polish group topology. In answer to a question of A.S. Kechris it is shown that that the group of Borel automorphisms of R can...

The moduli space of flat SL(2, R)-connections modulo gauge transformations on the torus may be described by ordered pairs of commuting SL(2, R) matrices modulo simultaneous conjugation by SL(2, R) matrices. Their spectral properties allow a classification of the equivalence classes, and a unique canonical form is given for each of these. In this way the moduli space becomes explicitly parametri...

We simulate the growth of tumors in two dimensions to investigate the role of a random decrease in the adhesion forces of tumor cells and its effect on tumor morphology. We conclude that a decrease in cell adhesion, controlled by a model parameter σ, can explain both tumor surface roughening and cell detachment. We find that tumor boundary fractal dimension and roughness increase with σ. The re...
