A new poly(vinylchloride) membrane sensor for Cr3+ ions based on di (benzylamino)glyoxime asan ionophore was prepared. The electrode has a linear dynamic range 1×10-6-1×10-1 mol l-1,with aNernstian slope of 20.3 ± 0.5 mV per decade and a detection limit of 2×10-7. It has a fast responsetime of

in recent decades, enormous use of chromium in different industries as well as water and soil pollution by those industries caused serious concern. toxic impact of chromium on the growth of plants includes changes in the process of germination and root, stem and leaves’ growth. chromium also has harmful impact on the plants’ physiological processes such as photosynthesis. on the other hand, iro...

In the title complex, [CrCl(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]Cl, the Cr(III) ion is situated on a twofold rotation axis and displays a slightly distorted octa-hedral CrCl(2)N(4) coordination geometry. The Cr environment is composed of a cis arrangement of two 1,10-phenanthroline and two chloride ligands. The chloride counter-anion exhibits half-occupation and is equally disordered over two positions.

Chromium (VI), also known as hexavalent chromium, is the second most stable oxidation state of chromium. Rarely occurring naturally, most chromium (VI) compounds are manufactured (products or by-products). Chromium (VI) can be reduced to the more stable chromium (III) in the presence of reducing agents (e.g. iron) or oxidizable organic matter (OSHA, 2006). Selected chemical and physical propert...

In the title compound, [Cr(2)Nd(2)F(4)(NO(2))(8)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]·4CH(3)OH·H(2)O, two cis-difluoridobis(1,10-phenanthroline)chromium(III) fragments containing octa-hedrally coordinated chromium(III) bridge via fluoride ions to two tetra-nitratoneodymate(III) fragments, forming an uncharged tetra-nuclear square-like core. The fluoride bridges are fairly linear, with Cr-F-Nd angles of 168.74 (8...

The method described in this study is a robust and sensitive method for the simultaneous determination of trivalent and hexavalent chromium (Cr(III) and Cr(VI)) in an exhaled breath condensate (EBC) sample and drinking water proficiency testing material sample. The method uses a hyphenated micro liquid chromatography (mLC) system coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)....

Due to its extensive use in industrial processes, large quantities of chromium compounds are discharged into the environment. Common approaches for the speciation of Cr employ the determination of Cr(VI) and total Cr. The focus of the present work was a separation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) species, with a minimum of sample preparation, by keeping an eye on the more relevant and toxic Cr(VI). For th...

-Cr(III) and Cr(VI) compounds of varying solubilities have been tested in vitro for their ability to inhibit cell growth and nucleic acid and protein syntheses in BHK cells, to induce alterations in the mitotic cycle in HEp cells, and to increase the frequency of chromosomal aberrations and sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) in CHO cells. All Cr(VI) compounds, and particularly those containing so...

M. capsulatus Bath is a well-characterized aerobic methane-oxidizing bacterium that has become model system for biotechnological development of methanotrophs to perform useful reactions environmental cleanup and making valuable chemicals biological products using methane gas. Interest in such technology increased recently owing increasing availability low-cost from fossil sources. Here, it demo...
