geometrically nonlinear governing equations for a plate with linear viscoelastic material are derived. the material model is of boltzmann superposi¬tion principle type. a third-order displacement field is used to model the shear deformation effects. for the solution of the nonlinear governing equations the dynamic relaxation (dr) iterative method together with the finite difference discretizati...

We use the correspondence between scalar field theory on AdSd+1 and a conformal field theory on R to calculate the 3and 4-point functions of the latter. The classical scalar field theory action is evaluated at tree level. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected] 1

Nanotechnology is one of the pillars of human life in the future. This technology is growing fast and many scientists work in this field. The behavior of materials in nano size varies with that in macro dimension. Therefore scientists have presented various theories for examining the behavior of materials in nano-scale. Accordingly, mechanical behavior of nano-plates, nanotubes nano-beams and n...

In this paper we present some results on the dispersionless limit of the Toda lattice equations viewed as the semi-classical limit of an equation involving certain Toeplitz operators. For the non-periodic case the phase space is the Riemann sphere, while in the periodic case it is the torus, C =Z 2. This implies estimates on the dispersionless limit.

We construct an exact and finite classical solution in cubic open string field theory. The classical solution has a well-defined Fock space expression. Through the redefinition of a string field, the string field theory expanded around the classical solution can be transformed into the theory with a different coupling constant, where other backgrounds are unchanged. Therefore, the classical sol...

From classical mechanics to quantum field theory, the physical facts at one point in space are held to be independent of those at other points in space. I propose that we can usefully challenge this orthodoxy in order to explain otherwise puzzling correlations at both cosmological and microscopic scales. “Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so that each small piece of he...
