We have developed a colorimetric and fluorescent dual-response probe for the detection of paraquat and diquat in aqueous solutions based on an anionic polythiophene derivative. The detection limit of this approach can be as low as 10(-9) M by fluorescence measurements.
A combination of rolling circle amplification and nicking endonuclease-assisted nanoparticle amplification (NEANA) is used for the rapid, colorimetric detection of DNA. The integration of rolling circle amplification into the NEANA approach allows for detection of oligonucleotides with arbitrary sequences at ultralow concentrations.
An ultrasensitive DNAzyme-based colorimetric DNA detection strategy was developed by utilizing gold nanoparticles modified with both peroxidase-mimicking DNAzymes and capture DNAs and magnetic nanoparticles modified with another capture DNAs, with a detection limit for a model Chlamydia gene of 50 fM.
We developed a polymerase reaction free, low-cost and sensitive assay for the colorimetric detection of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), based on the use of a smart design exploiting magnetic microbeads, chimeric RNA/DNAzyme oligonucleotides, and double signal amplification. This method allows obtaining a fast response with a detection limit of 10 pM, avoiding the amplification of the target via tr...
A new colorimetric molecular probe based on a 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene (BODIPY) dye selectively binds Pb(II) ions in aqueous solutions, allowing for highly sensitive naked-eye detection.
Selective colorimetric detection of ATP in physiological conditions by a Zn(II)-based receptor is reported. This reagent was found to be non-toxic to the living cells and could be used for studying the growth of the yeast cells.
Expression of concern for ‘Novel scandium-MOF nanocrystals as peroxidase-mimicking nanozymes highly sensitive colorimetric detection ascorbic acid in human serum’ by Yiqian Su et al. , CrystEngComm 2023, DOI: https://doi.org/10.1039/d2ce01023b.
The EPA's recommended maximum allowable level of inorganic mercury in drinking water is 2 ppb (10 nM). To our knowledge, the most sensitive colorimetric mercury sensor reported to date has a limit of detection (LOD) of 800 pM. Here, we report an instrument-free and highly practical colorimetric methodology, which enables detection of as low as 2 ppt (10 pM) of mercury and/or silver ions with th...
Aptamers are nucleic acid based binding molecules that are obtained through a combinatorial selection process known as systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX). 2] They are emerging as a new class of molecules that can rival antibodies in terms of the broad range of molecules they can selectively bind. In comparison with antibodies, aptamers, particularly DNA aptamers, ...
We report the application of machine learning to smartphone-based colorimetric detection of pH values. The strip images were used as the training set for Least Squares-Support Vector Machine (LS-SVM) classifier algorithms that were able to successfully classify the distinct pH values. The difference in the obtained image formats was found not to significantly affect the performance of the propo...
