We show how electron-positron storage rings may be used to obtain information on hadronic states with even charge conjugation. This is illustrated by studying the reaction ee+xn+r, the analysis of which should reveal information on even-C dipion resonances, such as the existence of the E -meson. We discuss conjugation and Dyson’s rank for overpartitions from the perspective of the Frobenius representation. More specifically, we translate the classical definition of Dyson’s rank to the Frobenius representation of an overpartition and define a new kind of conjugation in terms of this representation. We then use q-series identities to study overpartitions that are self-conjugate with resp...

In this paper we study a classification of linear systems on Lie groups with respect the conjugacy of the corresponding flows. We also describe stability according to Lyapunov exponents.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) constitute a category of anticancer targeted therapy that has gathered great interest during the last few years because of their potential to kill cancer cells while causing significantly fewer side effects than traditional chemotherapy. In this paper, a process of computational construction of ADCs is described, using the surface lysines of an antibody and a non...

The nonlinear properties and the photophysical behavior of two π-conjugated chromophores that incorporate an electron-deficient pyrimidine core (A) and γ-methylenepyrans as terminal donor (D) groups have been thoroughly investigated. Both dipolar and quadrupolar branching strategies are explored and rationalized on the basis of the Frenkel exciton model. Even though a cooperative effect is clea...

UNLABELLED Antimicrobial resistance in Staphylococcus aureus presents an increasing threat to human health. This resistance is often encoded on mobile plasmids, such as pSK41; however, the mechanism of transfer of these plasmids is not well understood. In this study, we first examine key protein-DNA interactions formed by the relaxase enzyme, NES, which initiates and terminates the transfer of ...

Incorporation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons into siloles enhances their light emission in solutions but lowers emission efficiency in the aggregated state. The competitive interaction between conjugation and rotation is thus studied.

The therapeutic efficacy of antibodies can be successfully improved through targeted delivery of potent cytotoxic drugs in the form of antibody-drug conjugates. However, conventional conjugation strategies lead to heterogeneous conjugates with undefined stoichiometry and sites, even with considerable batch-to-batch variability. In this study, we have developed a chemo-enzymatic strategy by equi...

Elastic optical scattering, the dominant light interaction process in biological tissues, prevents tissues from being transparent. While scattering may appear stochastic, it is in fact deterministic in nature. We show that, despite experimental imperfections, optical phase conjugation (lambda = 532 nm) can force a transmitted light field to retrace its trajectory through a biological target and...

The present paper is an account of results obtained from conjugations within a clone of Euplotes patella of atypical form, and within clones descended from some of the ex-conjugants produced. I n the foregoing paper (COHEN 1934) on the effects of conjugation in this hypotrichous ciliate a study was made of a group of conjugants obtained by inducing conjugation among the members of a single clon...
