All Digital Phase locked loops (ADPLL) plays a major role in System on Chips (SoC). Many EDA tools are used to design such complicated ADPLLs. It operates on two modes such as frequency acquisition mode and phase acquisition mode. Frequency acquisition mode is faster compared to Phase acquisition, hence frequency synthesis is performed. The CMOS technology is used to design such a complex desig...
This paper present a single stage CMOS Voltage controlled oscillator with a high oscillation frequency and low power consumption. The VCO is a single stage circuit has a low phase noise due to reduced noise sources. The VCO is intended to operate as a frequency synthesizer in a PLL to generate local oscillator frequency (LO) for an acquisition system, providing in-phase/Q-phase outputs. The per...
This paper presents a new realization of resistorless mixed-mode (i.e. both voltage-mode and currentmode) quadrature sinusoidal oscillator using a new active building block (ABB) called the differential voltage current-controlled conveyor transconductance amplifier (DVCCCTA). The proposed oscillator circuit uses a single DVCCCTA, two grounded capacitors (GCs) and does not employ any external li...
Oscillator Architectures and Enhanced Frequency Synthesizer. (December 2009) Sang Wook Park, B.S., Yonsei University, Korea; M.S., Yonsei University, Korea Chair of Advisory Committee: Dr. Edgar Sánchez-Sinencio A voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) that generates a periodic signal whose frequency is tuned by a voltage is a key building block in any integrated circuit system. A sine wave oscill...
Oscillators are integral part of many electronic systems. An oscillator is an electronic device used for the purpose of generating a signal. Most electronic signal processing systems require frequency or time reference signals. This paper deals with the analysis and design of CMOS oscillators more specifically voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs).Voltage Controlled Oscillator is an electronic ...
in this work, time domain analysis is used to solve adler’s equation in order to obtain the required time, for an oscillator under external injection, reaching the steady-state condition. mathematical approach has been applied to fully describe the transient of frequency acquisition in injection-locked lc and ring oscillators considering their time-varying nature. then, the analysis is verified...
This chapter deals with the control of chaos exhibited in the behavior of a one-degree-of-freedom impact mechanical oscillator with a single rigid constraint. The mathematical model of such impact oscillator is represented by an impulsive hybrid linear non-autonomous dynamics. The proposed control approach is based chiefly on the OGY method. First, an analytical expression of a constrained cont...
Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) is an important building block in wireless communication system. In this paper a five stage current starved Voltage Controlled Oscillator (CMOS VCO) is designed which is used in Phase Lock Loop (PLL). The design is implemented on CADENCE VIRTUOSO Platform with high oscillation frequency and low power dissipation. The oscillation frequency of the designed VCO ...
A new current-controlled oscillator (CCO) is presented which is suitable for use in low-voltage and lowpower designs. These features, and the low supply dependence of this CCO all stem from using a regenerative mechanism in its primitive delay cells. The circuit is designed and simulated in a 0.8um BiCMOS technology.
VDD A 10 GHz CMOS distributed voltage controlled oscillator (DVCO) is designed in a 0.35pm BiCMOS process technology using only CMOS transistors. The oscillator achieves a tuning range of 12% (9.3 GHz to 10.5 GHz) and a phase noise of -1 14 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from a carrier frequency of 10.2 GHz. The VCO uses two different simultaneous tuning techniques which allow for a coarse and fine I t...
