We classify up to multiplier equivalence optimal (v, 3, 1) binary cyclically permutable constant weight (CPCW) codes with v ≤ 61. There is a one-to-one correspondence between optimal (v, 3, 1) CPCW codes, optimal cyclic binary constant weight codes with weight 3 and minimal distance 4, (v, 3; b(v − 1)/6c) difference packings, and optimal (v, 3, 1) optical orthogonal codes. Therefore the classif...

Self-dual cyclic codes form an important class of linear codes. It has been shown that there exists a self-dual cyclic code of length n over a finite field if and only if n and the field characteristic are even. The enumeration of such codes has been given under both the Euclidean and Hermitian products. However, in each case, the formula for selfdual cyclic codes of length n over a finite fiel...

This survey paper provides fundamentals in the design of LDPC codes. To provide a target for the code designer, we first summarize the EXIT chart technique for determining (near-)optimal degree distributions for LDPC code ensembles. We also demonstrate the simplicity of representing codes by protographs and how this naturally leads to quasi-cyclic LDPC codes. The EXIT chart technique is then ex...

— Quasi-twisted (QT) codes are a generalization of quasi-cyclic (QC) codes. Based on consta-cyclic simplex codes, a new explicit construction of a family of 2-generator quasi-twisted (QT) two-weight codes is presented. It is also shown that many codes in the family meet the Griesmer bound and therefore are length-optimal. codes are also obtained by the construction.

We disprove a conjecture of Bultena and Ruskey [1], that all trees which are cyclic graphs of cyclic Gray codes have diameter 2 or 4, by producing codes whose cyclic graphs are trees of arbitrarily large diameter. We answer affirmatively two other questions from [1], showing that strongly Pn × Pncompatible codes exist and that it is possible for a cyclic code to induce a cyclic digraph with no ...

LCD codes are linear codes that intersect with their dual trivially. Quasi-cyclic codes that are LCD are characterized and studied by using their concatenated structure. Some asymptotic results are derived. Hermitian LCD codes are introduced to that end and their cyclic subclass is characterized. Constructions of QCCD codes from codes over larger alphabets are given.

In this paper we study Z2Z4Z8-additive codes, which are the extension of recently introduced Z2Z4-additive codes. We determine the standard forms of the generator and parity-check matrices of Z2Z4Z8-additive codes. Moreover, we investigate Z2Z4Z8-cyclic codes giving their generator polynomials and spanning sets. We also give some illustrative examples of both Z2Z4Z8-additive codes and Z2Z4Z8-cy...

In this paper, we define and study quantum cyclic codes, a generalisation of cyclic codes to the quantum setting. Previously studied examples of quantum cyclic codes were all quantum codes obtained from classical cyclic codes via the CSS construction. However, the codes that we study are much more general. In particular, we construct cyclic stabiliser codes with parameters [[5, 1, 3]], [[17, 1,...

This article discusses skew generalized quasi-cyclic codes over any finite field F with Galois automorphism θ. This is a generalization of quasi-cyclic codes and skew polynomial codes. These codes have an added advantage over quasi-cyclic codes since their lengths do not have to be multiples of the index. After a brief description of the skew polynomial ring F[x; θ], we show that a skew general...
