The formation ofcis-l,2-dihydroxy-l,2,-dihydronaphthalene from naphthalene by naphthalene oxygenase, purified from Corynebacterium renale ATCC 15075, was demonstrated to involve oxidation of a mol NADH and consumption of one mol oxygen.
